I've owned this bass for about 6 months now. If you're like me and just enjoy playing anything and everything with a good bassline, whether it be "If You Want Me to Stay" by Sly and the Family Stone, "The Chicken" by Jaco, "Aeroplane" by the Chili Peppers, "Longview" by Green Day, and of course creating your own basslines in a sacred jam session, this is the bass to get. I originally purchased an Epiphone Thunderbird, but 3 months later i saw the Stilletto Elite 4 used and knew it was the bass for me, so i traded in the thunderbird and dropped an extra 100 bucks on the bass. it was worth it. Very versatile sound. DR Marcus Miller strings are the way to go for this bass. you can dial in any tone, from a big fat low end, to a crisper growl. Turning the treble all the way up and playing with a pick makes for a nice punk rock sound. I play through a Fender Rumble 100, which is a great amp, but definitely not a "pro quality" amp. Even through that, it sounds like a million bucks. I've played it through an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro and thought i had died and went to bassist heaven. I'd recommend this bass to beginners and pro's alike. Beginners would especially benefit because it's incredibly easy to play on and looks and sounds great, which makes you want to keep practicing. I know that whenever i'm at home, i can't go more than an hour without pickin this bass up and thumping away. It's one of those basses you can play your first bass tab on, and still want to be playing on it after years and years of experience.

WOW!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I have been a Dean man for many years, but for some reason while walking through a music store I picked up a Schecter Stiletto Elite to mess around with it. 2 hours later I figured I better leave the store before they kicked me out! A week went by & I couldn't get the thing out of my head. So I picked one up through Musician's Firend. Best purchase I have probably ever in my life! I have owned this beauty for almost a year now and all I can say is WOW! It's amazing!! I have been playing bass for 20 years and this thing actually improved my play. It may only be the fact that I never put it down & practice makes perfect...but who cares! Even my band mates can tell the difference. AWESOME hunk of wood at an AWESOME price!! Take my word for it and just buy it! You can't go wrong with Schecter!!!

Great bass greater price

I first was going to get one of the stiletto customs, but I saw one of these on ebay for a steal so I got that instead, and I have to say one of the best investments ever! It sounds great, its versitile (you can easilly go from a deep smooth sound, to a snappy bright sound, and if you play with it a bit, just about any thing else), the quality is exceptional, sustain for eons, and a very good underlaying tone. Construction is sollid, the only problems I have with it is that it that the finish is kind of soft, and mine needs a set up, but its used so that's not a problem.

Unbelieveably Fantastic

By 50andstillrockin

from Cumming, GA.

Had this bass for four years and use it 10 to 15 gigs a month. Put back my 83 Jazz and my 72 p-bass when I got it. Best neck I've ever played and sound can't be beat. Never needs tuning. Mine's honeyburst and beautifully finished. If your looking for a great working instrument, buy it NOW!

Amazing price for a high-end quality bass

By Anonymous

Owning 2 Schecters (C1+ Guitar) and this bass would never have been dreamed by me. I believe the high-end Schecters have the craftsmanship and quality of Gibson or Fender Guitars. It has great sustain, punchy pickups, and a slim, fast-playing neck!

This bass is awesome. Anytime I go into a music store and they have this bass I pick it up and play it. I love this thing. It has some thump and it sounds crazy good. This bass is a little more expensive but its worth it.

I searched for a bass of this quality for a long time. This bass has it all; punch, tone, and great playability. The neck is thin and the action is great! I highly recommend this bass to anyone at any level-beginner to advanced!

I have 2 Steinberger XL2's that are ready to retire. I found the Schecter and loved it the moment I picked it up and played it. Great fast Steinberger like neck. Excellent electronics, overall, excellent value.

Great bass

By PapaNut

from Purple Stain, TX

This thing is amazing, The feel and sound of it are great. The action is comparable to the expensive basses that you only dream of owning. The one and only downfall to it is the weight. I would expect to pay $1000 to $2000 for a bass this nice with any other name on the headstock. You have absolutely got to try one out for yourself.

I Love This Thing!

By Bill... just Bill

I am sooo glad I bought this bass. It seriously has been so great to have. It plays cleanly, and easily. It has great tone, not to mention killer looks. This bass is a show-stopper. As soon as you walk on stage, everythings stops and everyone just kind of sits there and stares in amazement. It's been awesome, I have had it for about 3 years now.

This is an excellent bass. I got it for 350 used so i got a very good deal on it. It plays and sounds amazing though. I love the gold hardware and the neck through body. Definitely the best bass in the price range.

The Bass if it all you can have

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I have three basses. One practice job, one custom built costing 6 times the Schecter, and my Stelletto. I'm sorry I wasn't hip a long time ago. This bass is all you need if you can play. Fat, ballsey and precise in play, it is a dream to own and perform with.

The best value for its price

By Reverend Meat

from Portland, OR

I'll never be able to figure out how Schecter can only charge this much. Schecter built a bass that not only is beautiful to look at, but sounds great, too. The neck-through body is mahoghany and figured maple covered in a gorgeous translucent coat. The fretboard is rosewood with one of Schecter's famous abalone inlays at the 12th fret. The active EMG-HZ pickups sound excellent, and the bass itself sounds very warm. The individual bridges give each string excellent sustain and also prevent the other strings' vibration from causing that annoying carryover sound. It is also equipped with Grover tuners and Elixer strings standard. The horn may be a bit long for some people's taste, but I find that it gives the Elite-4 a good balance while you play. If I have any problems with the guitar, it is probably due to the Jumbo frets: while they will last you the life of this bass, it tends to slow down action just a bit. All in all, this was the best $$ that I have ever spent, and I strongly recommend this bass to anyone!

I luv this bass

By MetalMasterBasser

from St Genevieve, MO

I play fingerstyle -- with a heavy metal band -- and I completely luv this bass, in every aspect. It has every sound I could possibly want. Not only that, just look at it, it's a very striking bass, in every way. (By the way, I play more than just heavy metal, with this bass I also play with a jazz band for my school, so this bass is perfect for any style -- slapping, fingerstyle, a pick, you name it) two thumbs up!

Buy It and Get the Case Too

By The Romps Bassman

I had (Had) a fender jazz, a P-bass, a peavey t140, A Lankland, and a few more. I sold all those and have the Elete, the Archtop C4, the Stiletto Custom (Natural Satin), All Schecter. I use a music man for my funk stuff and I have a couple of Marcus Dunn hand made basses. I Love The Elete. It is my work horse and has a wide range of tone. If I forget to swich up to another guitar between songs I can always dial in the sound I need. Great Buy you can't go wrong with Schecter, and don't let anyone tell you the neck throughs are the best. Although the Elete is a neck through Schecter has some bolt on's that are excellant also, my Music Man is a bolt on also.

This is the best bass I've ever owned. It's a beautiful bass, worth every penny. And it sounds amazing. You can play rock, metal, popping/slapping funk, anything on it, and it sounds great. The quality is perfect and the sound is rich. It's a great bass.

Excellent Bass!!!

I bought this bass to replace an Ibanez SRX500 that I was thoroughly disappointed with, and I don't think I could have made a better choice. You really cannot go wrong with this bass for the price. I am sure you will find better basses out there, but you will pay a hefty price. This thing has great EMG-HZ pickups, neck-thru construction, mahogany wings, and a sound and playability to die for. I really can't say a single bad thing about this bass. It's comfortable, looks great, sounds great, and is made well. What more could you want from a $600 bass? To be honest, I would expect to pay more for a bass that looks, feels, and sounds this good.

Don't let the price fool you

This bass plays better than any $2000 guitar i've played. The tone is unique and unbeatable in this price range. I play light and with finess, so the sensitive pickups are perfect for me. And when I get down and dirty, the sound stays steady.

I've played bass since '68 professionally and recently retired my '73 Fender Jazz bass to play a Schector. I love it. My new one is the E 4 Stiletto. These are first class basses. The looks are unbeatable at the price. The electronics are sensitive and wide ranging (Can be made to sound like a Rick').Playing cover music a versatile bass is a must. This bass looks, sounds, and plays great. No kidding.

Thumpingly Amazing...

By Anonymous

I've been playing for 2 years and went looking for an upgrade, I decided on the Music Man Stearling for sound and looks, but then found this baby! The look is sweeter and the sound is amazing! You cant beat the price either! The thin neck allows for fast fast playing!! The tone is amazing and works for any style of music, I myself play (with this bass every week) Praise and Worship, Soft Rock, and my favorite, The Hardest Metal Screamo Ever! (All Christian of course) Get this bass and be blessed beyond imagine! "Keep on Thumppin"
