I've owned this bass for about 6 months now. If you're like me and just enjoy playing anything and everything with a good bassline, whether it be "If You Want Me to Stay" by Sly and the Family Stone, "The Chicken" by Jaco, "Aeroplane" by the Chili Peppers, "Longview" by Green Day, and of course creating your own basslines in a sacred jam session, this is the bass to get. I originally purchased an Epiphone Thunderbird, but 3 months later i saw the Stilletto Elite 4 used and knew it was the bass for me, so i traded in the thunderbird and dropped an extra 100 bucks on the bass. it was worth it. Very versatile sound. DR Marcus Miller strings are the way to go for this bass. you can dial in any tone, from a big fat low end, to a crisper growl. Turning the treble all the way up and playing with a pick makes for a nice punk rock sound. I play through a Fender Rumble 100, which is a great amp, but definitely not a "pro quality" amp. Even through that, it sounds like a million bucks. I've played it through an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro and thought i had died and went to bassist heaven. I'd recommend this bass to beginners and pro's alike. Beginners would especially benefit because it's incredibly easy to play on and looks and sounds great, which makes you want to keep practicing. I know that whenever i'm at home, i can't go more than an hour without pickin this bass up and thumping away. It's one of those basses you can play your first bass tab on, and still want to be playing on it after years and years of experience.

meh

good sounding, but 3 of my tuning keys broke. they're pure crap and gold hardware is ugly. but the sound and action are awesome. buy this if you like replacing parts.

Amazing

By Person who loves this bass

from Planet Earth

I got this bass a few days ago and it's amazing, probably the best bass I've ever played. The neck is great for fast playing, It has a pretty light body, and it's really comfortable. Definately worth the money. Not to mention, it looks really sexy. This bass is a steal. Overall I'd call it the best value hands down. Get it. You won't regret it.

WOW!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I have been a Dean man for many years, but for some reason while walking through a music store I picked up a Schecter Stiletto Elite to mess around with it. 2 hours later I figured I better leave the store before they kicked me out! A week went by & I couldn't get the thing out of my head. So I picked one up through Musician's Firend. Best purchase I have probably ever in my life! I have owned this beauty for almost a year now and all I can say is WOW! It's amazing!! I have been playing bass for 20 years and this thing actually improved my play. It may only be the fact that I never put it down & practice makes perfect...but who cares! Even my band mates can tell the difference. AWESOME hunk of wood at an AWESOME price!! Take my word for it and just buy it! You can't go wrong with Schecter!!!

Couldn't Be Better For Me

By Fiend_Club23

This bass has a great all around sound, it so smooth and slick. I play it with my Hartke A100 Amp, and with a Boss ODB-3 Bass OverDrive Pedal sometimes, but it all really depends on what song my band is playing at the time, but to get to the point this bass is one of the best I've played in a long time.

Couldn't Be Happier

This bass is incredible. The action and feel of the fretboard is unlike any other bass I have ever played. The pickups sound great, finish looks great. Love it to death.

Great bass greater price

By malkavian333

from california

I first was going to get one of the stiletto customs, but I saw one of these on ebay for a steal so I got that instead, and I have to say one of the best investments ever! It sounds great, its versitile (you can easilly go from a deep smooth sound, to a snappy bright sound, and if you play with it a bit, just about any thing else), the quality is exceptional, sustain for eons, and a very good underlaying tone. Construction is sollid, the only problems I have with it is that it that the finish is kind of soft, and mine needs a set up, but its used so that's not a problem.

QuidProQuoBand

Some reviewers stated they thought this bass was heavy. I thought that was ludicrous, until I realized I was comparing it to my tank (G&L ASAT) that has been sending me to the chiropractor the past couple of years. This bass feels very light to me and as a 29 yr veteran of the bass guitar, I must say my arthritic fingers have never graced a fretboard faster than they do on the Schecter Elite. Love the elecronics, tone, upper fret access/neck through design. Only negative is the gold finish on the bridge is wearing off after only a month - othrwise wold have given top score for quality. The South Koreans have done an outstanding job on this axe. Great for any level.

Wow, awesome bass....

By Mo' Bass

from South Carolina

I've owned this base for about a year and love it more every day, one of the best investments I've ever made! The build quality is perfect with the Ivory binding as a nice touch and the finish is second to none! Tone wise this bass has a lot to offer as it covers a wide variety of sound. I love the neck, is is sleek and fast because it's super thin and the action is low to boot. This bass is fun and very durable, Schecter makes quality Instruments at incredible prices! I can't figure how they do it and make money!

great bass

By Schtbss8

from PA

This bass is amazing. I got it for christmas after about a year of having my beginer p-bass. I must say the sound is awesome and I love the tone and the strings. This thing is a speed demon. really I got play so much faster than my p-bass. The only thing I didn't like was that the neck and bridge had to get adjusted because the strings were to low for me because I, an aggressive player. But other than that great bass. Good job schecter.

Awesome all around bass for the money!

By stillthakoolest

from Minneapolis, MN

I must say, the thing amazes me more every day. The active EMG's are great and full sounding, the action and moveability on the fretboard is great. Sounds great slap or fingerstyle. I play in an active cover band and it takes a beating sometimes, but never fails. And also, it is gorgeous. Great color, and the gold pieces are a cool touch.

This Is The One

By jef44

from New York

This was my second bass, and in deciding what to get I did alot of research of the different options in my price range. While I was initially inclined towards a j-bass, this little beauty caught my eye, so I gave her a test drive. That was probably the smartest decision I have ever made because I fell in love with the bass. Do not let the price influence your opinion of this thing, it outplays instruments double its price tag. The on board EQ is simply splendid, I can switched from the low deep blues to more trebly contemporary sounds without having to touch my amp. The response from the pickups is wonderful as well it can pick up those light fast licks cleanly and really emphasis those heavy hits as well. And never overlook the 24 frets, they're invaluble for when you want to really let your improvisational abilities out of the hat.I don't know how Schecter makes such quality as such a low cost, but thank god they do. I recommend this bass for anyone who wants something they can rely on for a long long time to come.
