Amazing Incredible Bass

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

For years I could never slap well. Once I got this Bass I can't stop myself from slapping. It is like a slap machine. It has the original NS-2 body style and fits in your body perfect. I only play Spectors now. Great Basses and great customer service.
Active EMGs with TonePump Pre sounds amazing. Remember there is a trim output on the Tone Pump. I have mine at about 60%.
This could pass for a USA made bass for sure. Great quality and feel. Excellent fretwork
Great value. If you cant afford a USA Spector this is the next best thing.

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

What an amazing instrument! The playability and tone are second to none, and the build quality is better than most of the American-made basses I own. The contoured body is very comfortable, and the C-profile neck feels great even towards the end of a long gig. Upper fret access is great. Be very careful with the volume controls, as this bass has over twice the output of a Stingray - this makes switching basses on a one-channel amp tricky. I run all my basses with their volume controls set at 10, but the Spector I set around 2 - 3 max! I would buy another one in a heartbeat if it were lost or stolen. Mine is a beautiful gloss white - try finding one of those!

Best bass for the price

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

This axe is the best bass ever! I played on a Fodera Monarch 4 string for a while and loved it, until I played on the Spector Euro 4. You can have the same quality and playablity of Fodera at less than half the price. This bass is my main instrument for everything from Jazz, Funk, to Heavy Metal. This is a working bass, not a show bass, but it sure looks good anyway!

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

I have a NS4 and a black-blue EURO 4, but this the best bass I like to play. The other 2 are really great, the look, the feel, the sound, but this is my favorite. I have 16 other basses, and they are all nice, but I bring them out as a backup bass, and sometimes I play them just to remind me of why I bought them, but I have only 1 bass that I feel like I have to play all the time and that is this one. It IS THE ONE! In one word,"AWESOME"!!!

Pricey, but worth it?

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

I've had many Spectors including the Eoro. The last one was a blue one that I got for a great price...now they are a bit steep. Especially when you don't even get a case. What you do get is quality, comparable t a Rickenbacker, and a step above a Music Man, but at a cost increase. The bass plays well and is solid with a HUGE bottom end. I just think the cost to value ratio is all messed up.

My Favorite Bass

By emCem

from Elkton, MD

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

I have owned my Spector Euro 4 LX for three years. I've had no problems. This bass has helped me become a far better player than I was before. It begs to be played. I do wish the bass and treble controls were not boost only, although I'm always able to get close to the tone I'm looking for. Some other reviews state that this bass is a bit pricey; I don't agree. It's a terrific value. I will never sell it!

Inexpensive Alternative

By Spector_Ray

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

The Euro 4LX is the younger brother to the flagship NS-2 of the Spector line. This bass contains most of the same features of the NS-2 but in a more affordable package. It plays and sounds good although the Tonepump takes a bit of getting used to. It really accentuates the midrange growliness of this bass although other tones can be dialed in. It also has sustain for days thanks to the neck through construction, brass nut and hefty brass bridge. The highlight of this bass is the incredible NS fully carved and countoured body which makes this bass a dream to play. It's probably the most comfortable bass you'll ever strap on. At about half the price of a US made Spector, this bass is worth the money.

Amazing!

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

This is one of the coolest non custom made basses out there. The through neck is much better quality than other basses, and while it still has that fat spector-style slap tone, it is really versatile and it is and amazing bass to play pizzicato (that means with your fingers, folks). I am hardly a fan of any maple at all on basses (bad experiences with a warwick corvette proline), but the maple enhances the tone. Compared to a warwick corvette or a thumb, this blows them away. The corvette lacks versatility, and the Thumb's body is too small for the gigantic neck. My only complaint about this bass is that Spector could sell it for a bit less. Also, if yours does not come with a case, buy one from the factory since these basses have a weird but cool shape to them. Really an amazing bass, youll keep this one for a while!

Never selling this one!

By Rob Whelan

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

This is the best bass I have ever owned. I should have never sold the Rickenbacker 4001 that I bought in 1974 but I love this bass so much better. The sound, tone and power of this are stunning. It is one of the most beautiful basses I have ever seen!

High class all the way!!!

By Spector Nutz

from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

When you want a fine automobile you buy a Mercedes. When you want a fine watch you buy a Rolex. When you want a fine bass you buy a Spector. I just received my Euro 4 LX and I can honestly say that this is one classy bass. From the gold plated brass bridge, to the Shaller tuners, to the EMG pickups, Tone Pump, neck-thru body design, right down to the beautiful high gloss finish, you just can't go wrong. I've played basses in the past that cost twice as much as the Euro and found them to be no where near as good. As far as tone and playability are concerned, the Euro reminds me of a cross between the American made NS-2, and the Music Man Stingray. The Euro 4 LX is an instrument to be seen, heard, and experienced.

Spector is the BEST!!!

By Anonymous

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

I have 3 Spector Czech basses and 2 Spector USA basses. I love all of them. My new one is a Euro 4LX in blue. The tone-pump pre-amp rocks and it plays like a dream. I have been playing for over 20 years and played alot of bass in my time, and the only bass out there that I play is a Spector. One of my USA's dates to 1983 and I got it in 1984 and I still have it. It's the best bass I have. Thanks Spector you rock!!!

Great Bass

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

This is a great bass. I do kind of wish the active tone controls would let you cut as well as boost (that's why I give the features a 4). Very well made bass. The bass has a little volute on the back of the neck where the neck transitions to the headstock. It's not a sharp pointy volute like you see on some basses, but it is thicker than an average bass neck there. Took me a little getting used to.

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

This bass has been incredible in the studio as well as on small AND large stages. I play everything from small clubs to large stages with pro sound reinforcement and I always get compliments on my KILLER tone. The Spector Growl is awesome and this bass cuts through everything. It even sounds great through my old Peavey Combo 300 that I've had for 30 years and use at rehearsals.

Specter Euro 4 String in Blue

    By John R-p6MDi

    from NYC

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

Best sound in hard rock bass for me is my specter euro matched with a Gallien Kruger 1001rb 2 and SBX biamped 410 Cab. Tone is fantastic across the entire spectrum, perfect for metal or funk! Finger, pick and slap all sound fantastic and the action is one of a kind. Highly recommend playing through his thing before buying anything else. There are others basses that are great but this one just FEELS right in your hands.

    This bass is OUTRAGEOUS!

    By Anonymous

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

I just bought the new Euro LX. Spector has totally shocked the electric bass market with such a high quality bass at this price. It was a great move in offering alder instead of flame maple bodies, which are more expensive. I personally like the tone of alder over maple. Warm and punchy but not as bright as maple. Add that to the already-solid construction and gorgeous super model curves and Spector may well have out-done themselves in offering the Euro LX.

    Incredible Bass, Incredible Value

    By BenKrishman

    from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Comments about Spector Euro 4 LX 4-String Bass:

I purchased the Spector Euro 4 string(Neck Thru) as my 3rd bass. This is one of the best basses I have ever had the pleasure of playing. It has incredible sound, and feels wonderful to play. Another thing that I love about the bass is slapping sounds good on the bass, and is very easy to do. It feels as if the bass was built to slap. This is an incredible value, as it feels like you are playing a 2 or 3 thousand dollar bass. I would reccomend this bass to anyone and everyone with a passion for playing bass.
