I've owned allot of basses over the 35 years I've played. I own a Ibanez SR-905 and a Ibanez DW-3 and like both those basses very much. I purchased a Spector Custom 5 and just returned from my first rehearsal with it. I don;t know that it's possible for me to love it any more. I've never played a bass that was so solid and fast. It's super fast and has fantastic sound from cushy to a killer growl. I simply did not want to stop playing. I'd recommend this bass to my best friend and feel good about it. Joe B in K.C.
Owned and played many great basses over 40 years and I think I have found the one bass that could have done it all through out the years. I believe this bass fits any genre. If you are 12 years old or 55 like myself, you'll love this bass.
I've had Spector MK for over two years now and at first I had a small problem, the nut wasn't cut properly and Spector actually had me send it to the US factory to re-cut the nut and it's AWESOME ! ! ! I was playing in a band opening for bands such as 5FDP, DrowningPool, Hatebreed, etc..using a very nice Ibanez BTB1005(made at the Japanese custom shop), but I've retired that bass for this Spector. The MK is a tough as nails bass with super tight low end, yet rich, full mids & highs (also wt DR BlackBeauties). What a GREAT Deal??? Buy this bass, seriously!
this is a great bass. one of the best ive ever played. just the bottom end itself is wonderful, but dont let that full you the mids and highs are still there and powerful than most. the EMG pickups are great with the lowstring action is great and easy to play
