I have owned this bass for about three years. Its a very solid body with very good pickups. If you have a good amp, the pickups can get pretty much any tone you want. The tuners are unbelievable. I can go a week without tuning and I'll check the strings with an electric tuner and they will still be perfect. The bridge is very solid and easy re-string. The neck of the bass is questionable. There's heavy fretbuzz on the first few frets on the E string. Once you get past the 15th fret, playing is a little awkward and clumsy. The bass is slightly top heavy. The knobs are absolute shit and they do hardly anything for the sound of the bass. I just keep all my knobs at maximum. I get a lot of clicks and clacks while I play fingerstyle which is the string hitting the frets...i dont know if thats my fault or another neck flaw but i thought i would just point that out. Very good for finger style because the pickups are placed just right so you can put your thumb on it and get in just the right position. Also good for slap. Overall the bass is very good for the price. It has a good P-Bass neck with some flaws. I would get it if you have been playing for 3 years or less or if money is the biggest factor in your choice of a bass.

It's an ok bass. It looks nice but thats about it. The body feels a bit small, and it feels like it's just a plastic block cut in the shape of a spector. the neck doesn't feel too warm either, and it feels really weird where the neck connects to the body. I don't know if it was the strings or the nut but I always had mad fret buzz from the first thru seventh frets on every string. the bridge is difficult to work with. and the controls aren't too great either. two volume and two tone - you'd think you'd have a lot of control, but you don't get much out of it. The only thing this bass has going for it is the finish and the price. You're better off saving up for a better spector or in my case an Ibanez.

Spector 4 DLX

Got this Bass to try a Spector - I can tell you this is one of the nicest Basses I have played - pound for pound - low action, fast neck - punchy sound - and that cool Jazz Bass tone when you roll off the bridge and play over the bridge pickup. It is light weight and I can't put it down. My main bass is a 1965 Fender Jazz.

For the price, you can't do much better

I have had this bass (5 string version) for about 5 years, and it still sounds and plays well. It doesn't play as nicely as the more expensive models, but it still plays extremely well for the price. The pickups are very good too(mine came with EMG pickups, not sure what kind, but they are good). If you have the money, I would say go for the more expensive models, because they just play that much better. I do not own one, but I have played them a fair amount in music stores, and they play extremely well. This bass has done well for me though, so I would recommend it if you do not have the money(I don't).

Great Value Bass

By Grozlam

from Vampireline.com

Had a bit of a buzzing problem when I first got it, but after I raised the strings it's really great. The pickups are awesome and each have their own tone and volume knob, which is really nice. My only real complaint is that it's a wee bit heavy. Otherwise, it's a good intermediate bass.

Superb!

By C. Bear

This bass is absolutely amazing! It is the most comfortable bass i have ever played. The sound is incredible too, especially when paired with an Ashdown MAG300T amp. I get a lot of compliments on my sound. The best part about this bass is that it's actually affordable. With such high quality construction, and an amazing sound I would expect this bass to cost a lot more. Spector basses are incredible.

I got this bass last year, and I'm glad I did. This bass is great for beginners to experts. It sounds good through three of my amps and has hooked me on Spector for good.i'm not going to get into all of the persuasion you may see on other reviews, but just know that if you want a new bass this is it.

Another Lemon

By Anchoret

Potentially, this is an adequate bass and a decent value, but only with some quality control.Mine arrived in unplayable condition in terms of (non-) setup, but worst of all, the neck was on VERY crooked in the pocket. It could not be straightened because the holes were drilled wrong. Tech said it was off so badly that they would have to be redrilled to true the neck to the body.Quite a few really bad finish flaws. It's going back, and I hope I can get a replacement that's not junk.

Amazing Bass!!!

I went to the store with intentions of buying an acoustic bass. Later on I saw this bass and it's vintage look caught my eye. I got it down and fell in love with it. I ended up putting back the acoustic and buying this one. The action on it is amazing! The sound that it produces is such a clean, nice sound. I played it through a crate bass amp and have never played anything that sounded so nice. It's very worth the price and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a very good quality bass who does'nt want to spend one grand on one. Great bass!!! Btw, the black is definitely the nicest color.
