I'm basicly a guitar player although throughout my years of playing I've done the bass thing too. I was wanting a bass to play at home and, have fun with but, my son is a bass player and, I figured he may enjoy playing it to. The P Bass has always been my favorite and, this one is no exception. I like the race red color but, I always like red. The extra pickup is a nice touch really adds versatality to sound of the instrument. The value in this bass is really surprising, I'm really enjoying it. I'm not a really a fan of Squier instruments but, I do have a couple of vintage modified guitars Jaguar and, Jazzmaster and, I must admit they are excellent! If you're looking for a bass at Great price check this one out. Honestly if it didn't say Squier on the headstock you couldn't tell it from a top end Fender. The Musicians Gear molded case is a perfect fit.

Bought this bass to perform in front of people. After many practices we discovered a horrible buzz coming from the bridge jazz pickup. The Bass is currently in the shop with a Fender Technician. We got this bass for its looks and the price. The electronics are not good. The body and neck feel decent but are not anything special. For a beginner or someone practicing bass alone this bass is amazing its looks and sounds are pretty good for the price. But for professional use I would steer clear as the back jazz pickup has a horrible buzz and unless you have your own guitar tech like myself I would seriously advise buying the more expensive "Vintage Modified" Version of this P/J Bass.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

I bought this bass because I wanted a Precision bass with a Jazz or something close to a Jazz neck. Although the neck does seem to bee slimmer it does not measure 1-1/2' at the nut. It's 1-5/8" just like a precision bass. But the neck is smaller than a standard precision and plays very well.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

I picked this up as a replacement for my Epiphone Thunderbird. It is a much more versatile bass, with a much wider tone palette. It feels great and is a much more manageable size, and its nice not to have the neck dive the Thunderbird had. It was nearly perfectly set up, I just need to do one small tweak to the A string saddle, and it'll be perfect. I tried this up against an Ibaznez Talman, and the sound of this is much crisper. I'd recommend this to anybody.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

This bass really surprised me. Think of me with a bass guitar of poor characteristics and I found a product of very good quality in relation to its price.
I am very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it for its price and quality as first bass guitar and as well as your main bass. Its sound is really very good and its construction is correct.
The only thing I found not quite well that I could feel is in their tuning machines, but pf course they can be replaced in a simple way by better quality ones.

I've used this about everyday for the last two years, it's the only bass I have. It feels good not uncomfortable at all. I've had to adjust the truss rod and saddles a few times but not a big deal. The biggest problem is the pickups and electronics. The jazz pickup in mine doesn't work anymore and just about six months ago I got the electronics fixed up. Also there is a bit of buzz and increases when the tone is turned up, not a big deal but kind of annoying. I think I'm gonna replace the pickups with the emg gzr pickups

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

Great bass! I use a music man stingray and a rickenbacker 4003s, so why would I buy a squier? Well the PJ pickup is unique as you know, and I just couldn't get a very good p bass sound out of the neck pickup on my music man stingray 4HH. Saw the reviews and price, so I picked this up. With a high mass bridge upgrade and a set of geezer butler EMG's, this is now the best four hundred I ever spent on a cheaper bass. Sounds and feels pretty similar to my old American standard I used to have!

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

I owned a Fender P bass 20+ years ago with a jazz neck, which I had custom built. I can say firsthand that this bass is every bit the quality of the Fender, if not better. While this particular bass has a Precision neck, I love the pickup configuration here with split Precision single coil and Jazz single coil. This bass give you the best of both Fender worlds, Jazz punch and warm Precision sound. Yes, you'll get the typical 60 cycle pickup hum from the Jazz pickup, but I have no problems with this since I run my setup with pedals, particularly a Behringer noise reduction pedal and the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Bass Pi Distortion Effects Pedal. Dial up noise suppression on the Behringer, and engage both Crossover and Bypass and set the noise gate on the Electro-Harmonix Pi; noise problem solved. Total silence. Bass plays great and quality made. Great guitar, good pickups. No need to pay hundreds of $$s more simply for the "Fender" logo on the headstock. This is essentially a Fender bass at a great price. Highly recommended for players at any level.
