Comments about Squier Deluxe Dimension Bass IV Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Bass Guitar:

This is my 2nd Dimension bass from Squire, I also bought a red with mapel neck and both of them are awesome basses. Quality is superb in my opinion for the price you pay. Neck is a bit bulkier that usual from J bass or other models but it just feeds to the overall feel of the guitar which is very solid feel and overall weight is nicely balanced. I own several bass guitars from other makers some ezpensive some cheap but these guitars are at the top of my list in posiyive energy feed when I play.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Dimension Bass IV Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Bass Guitar:

I am an experienced musician who has gigged for years. I have mainly been playing an American Jazz Bass for the last ten years. I was excited to try one of these Squire basses because people have been raving about the quality online and sometimes you just need a new sound to refresh your ears. I chose the Dimension bass because it was different and would be a good bass to add some slap style to my repertoire. It was also on sale, which is nice!
The bass arrived within a week, I set it up and the intonation was dead on! I immediately thought the high mass bridge was cool and noticed the tuners were a little rough, but serviceable. (They stay in tune perfectly and will wear in with time) The neck felt great and fast. The frets were perfect too. I found the basswood body to be light and resonant, not exactly pretty (mine has a knot that is visible through the sunburst) but the fit and finish were good and the unplugged tone was promising.
When I plugged this bass into my amp, it was fairly silent, the pickup is powerful and all the knobs worked well. However, the pickup is midrange heavy, and the active electronics sounded like a toy at anything much over the center detentes. It was pretty easy to dial in a good slap tone, but with little variation. I figured I would just send it back and get store credit but I liked the neck, the weight and the overall feel of this Dimension bass so I figured I would try some different strings, I went with a set of flat wounds that I had, and boom, great low end- super cool with a pick and palm muting- but not that much variation. I changed the strings again to some old fat nickel wounds and boom, " Radar Love " tone but not much variation. So I went and bought some new nickel wounds 45-100 adjusted the pickup away from the strings and now this bass sings! It has really come to life and is a truly decent value. I will record with this bass and gig happily! Any kid would love this bass! Rock on!

Nice Bass. Has some fret buzz but it may be do to the strings and the factory setup. Looking to change the strings to elixer and will update later.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Dimension Bass IV Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Bass Guitar:

I bought this on a whim. I wanted to try something different, and I'm glad I tried this bass. Sometimes you don't know what to expect buying a bass sight unseen but I was surprised by the quality of this bass. The finish on this bass is flawless, The neck is nicely finished with a smooth gloss just the way I prefer. Fretwork is perfect. The bass came with a great setup and It played with ease immediately.

The sound of this bass seems somewhat like a P bass but with it's own character, with lot's of midrange that cuts through the mix.

The active electronics on this bass are quiet without any hum or buzz.

Overall a great value, and a bass I'm finding myself playing quite often.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Dimension Bass IV Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Bass Guitar:

I recently bought this bass through The Stupid Deal Of The Day. I have played the Fender Dimension bass in stores and really like the feel and sound but could never justify the cost as I didn't need another bass (did I really just say that?). When I saw this bass come up on SDotD I decided to take a chance and ordered it. This is my second modern Squire bass and know from recent experience that the Squire brand has come a long way.

Upon receiving the bass I was at first impressed with the size and comfortable weight of the instrument, it was not near as bulky as I had thought it might be. The fit and finish of the bass was excellent, no gaps or loose hardware. The Fender high mass bridge is awesome, very reminiscent of the Leo Quann on my Geddy Lee Signature Jazz. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this bass has active electronics, the details on the website listed it as passive.

After tuning it up and doing some minor adjustments to the string height I plugged it in and was BLOWN AWAY by the sound. This little bass was so expressive and comfortable to play and with the 3 band EQ I was able to dial in just about any sound that I could want. I took it to rehearsal last night and was very pleased with it. I think this bass will see quite a bit of stage and practice time.
