Played this a few months back. Nicer feel than the much heavier and much thicker/wider necked Fender version. Great value for the price. The star should be a sticker (so you could easily take it off). Pup is very loud, but distorts easily at bout 5/8 of the volume pot. A bigger bridge and better pup would make this a killer bass.

    I love it!

    By

Comments about Squier Mike Dirnt P Bass:

I just love this bass. I bought it as a starter bass when I was just getting into bass, but I've gotten a lot more serious over the years and I still love playing this bass. It doesn't just look nice, it plays nice. While it may not be a high end bass, it is bass worth buying if you are starting up this great instrument or just want another bass for your collection.

    Not that good

    By

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Squier Mike Dirnt P Bass:

Not as good as the other dirnt p-bass.The quality on this Bass is very cheap. The neck felt small and lousy, the tuning pegs were cheap and the star has to go.I have to say the sound was not bad w/a set of flats it would produce that motown sound. Conclusion,I'd save up for the real Fender dirnt bass and not get this one.

    Amazing Bass!!

    By

    from Seattle

Comments about Squier Mike Dirnt P Bass:

This is a wonderful bass that I would recommend to anyone looking into buying a squire P-Bass. It has a beautiful Green Day, growly tone and is also capable of playing many styles of music. I equally play both Jazz and Rock on this bass due to its tonal varieties. The design and finish are both amazing and the bass comes at an excellent price. You don't have to be a Green Day fan to enjoy this bass.

    Amazing

Comments about Squier Mike Dirnt P Bass:

Well my friend has one of these but we customized it, got rid of the star and made the body orange. The bass is amazing love the tone. But my overall favorite part of the bass is the thin neck.

    Awesome Bass

    By

    from New Jersey

Comments about Squier Mike Dirnt P Bass:

I bought this bass after playing on a peavey mileston and a stagg fretless. This bass is totally awesome by feature standards. The 50's stylings make it totally awesome. The bass is balanced nicely, not too heavy, but is comfortable to play on. Very broad range of treble/bass adjustment. Awesome bass. Totally awesome bass. For the price, a very good buy. Although it is Squier, it is very very similar to the name-brand Mike Dirnt bass. Good choice for a person whose styles of music differ. Plays well everything from punk to jazz.

    Great backup

    By

    from Nashville,Tn

Comments about Squier Mike Dirnt P Bass:

I own the vintage white model. Had it since april.Have been a pro player for many years and toured all over the world. I recently took a gig with a band that hosts a jam twice a month and found the need for a 4 string backup bass. I play 5-string and doghouse. Many do not. First and foremost the price is about right. The second change I made was a pickup swap to a creme colored DiMarzio.I had the neck and frets smoothed and the truss rod adjusted for a lower action and less buzz.I also did some vintage sanding and aging. (Lose the black star)Basically your getting a sweet Fender P-bass that really looks like a 51 from a crowd's view. All it needs is the little extras and the TLC that the high-end Fenders get before leaving the factories.Through a David Eden World Tour 800 amp with 4-10 EV-600watt cab it sounds every bit as good as any P bass I own. And it didn't cost me a grand.
