Great value for a bass that's quality made. All levels of playing experience will love Squier's quality. I give this bass two thumbs up
The bass I got has nice low action, light and comfy. one P- style pick up with a volume, people gripe about no tone knob, but you can always adjust the tone at the amp (afterall that's what all the knobs on the amp are for). Maple neck, maple fretboard is nice to look at and play
I have over 20 years of playing experience. i bought this guitar for my daughter since she's a Wentz fan, and she wanted to learn to play. I was blown away by Squier's quality. Squier makes some really good instruments that someone from beginner to Pro could play on. I saw a you-tube vid of Pete Wentz saying these bases are soo good that he uses them in the studio as well as for live performance. That says alot to me because Pete can afford to play on way more expensive basses. Looks way better in person the red pickguard on black really makes it pop. I dont care for the bat heart too much, but It's part of the Wentz theme.

Although I play guitar for my band, I also play a little bass. I have been envying this Pete Wentz bass for awhile, so I bought it. It actually turned out to be my perfect bass. Since I am primarily a post-hardcore artist, it suits my needs perfectly. There's no hassle getting that trebly sound found primarily found in modern rock (evident with the absence of tone knob) and hot looks. If you play only rock and no other genre, then this bass could suit you perfectly. But if you play genres such as jazz, then I wouldn't recommend it. Quality and its features although are a downside. My bass came shipped with a tuning alike to Drop Q haha. So that had to be changed. After doing this minor change however, it can stay in tune for a good amount of days. I haven't really sent it into a workshop to get it fixed, but likely I will since tuning guitars are a huge hassle.

This Is A Great Bass! I got this bass as a Christmas Present in 2009 and have been playing it for over a year. Great Sound, tone, and very good looking. This year I replaced the Duncan Pickups with EMG-P Active P Bass Pickups and it is amazing!

I got this as a gift from my parents. This is my first bass, so I wasn't looking for something amazing, just something to play around with. I am a pretty big fan of fall out boy and Pete Wentz, so I thought I would give this one a try. This bass was a pleasant surprise. I've played other squiers, and the quality on the ones I playing was pretty bad. This is was the first thing I noticed. It is actually very good quality for a squier. Of course, the quality isn't on par with actual Fenders, but it is very close. The tone is very 1-dimentional, as other people have said, but it's okay. I don't walking over to a amp and messing with the settings, but that does bother some people. The aesthetics are very cool. Keep in mind that the bat heart design is the logo of a actual company that Pete wentz owns, and it is really pops out. The pickguard also stands out a lot. The jazz neck is a joy to play. All in all, this is a great bass FOR BEGINNERS. I don't reccomend that a expert player would be buying this bass anyway, as it is a squier. So don't expect too much, because squiers are meant to be for for beginners, and this bass is perfect for just that.

I got this bass expecting a really punchy pokey sound but the tone was just really creamy and crunchy. Maybe it'd be good for playing deathgrind but it just can't recreate that classic pop punk tone unless you take out the precision pickup and put a jazz one in its place.Also, some of the frets popped off during a show and somebody took the tuning knobs off so that was a pain to replace. They should have made them a bit more secure against burglars in this crazy world.

Got this for my birthday. Cant be anymore pleased. As with other signature basses it has no tone knob, which works great for me as i never use mine. The Jazz maple neck is a dream. In some cases, you may need to adjust the action by a hair, and its built very well. Sounds good for anything and best in the Squier lineup.

This bass rocks! Is has very cool features like the jazz bass neck, awesome pickups, and the bat-heart logo. It lacks a tone knob but the bass plays pretty good without it. Some people have complained about the bass not having it's tone knob but you can just change your amp settings to give it the tone that you want. This bass can also play all sorts of rock and it is also very good at playing metal. I own this bass and i totally love it.

most bassists barely if ever use the tone knob, so getting rid of it is- for me, a good idea one less thing to go wrong on stage or in the studio, honestly I don't even need the vol knob. I play rock in most of its myriad forms and coupled with another cheap bass in the Squier lineup( the Mike Dirnt) I can nail most of the sounds I want. I didnt really care that they are artist models all I really cared about were the features and the looks and both of these guys set up their instruments much the way i do. I did take out the stock pup and put in an older dimarzio humbucker ( had to route the cavity) bass pup to give more thud in the sub 100 hz area than the Mike Dirnts bass, I bought mine used and installed a flashier pickguard as well. For what i paid (210 CAD) used I'm happy, I would have to pay twice that to get a MIM Fender.

I played it in a music store not too long ago. It's not necessarily bad, but it's nothing special either. I actually find the lack of a tone knob inconvenient. I don't mess with the tone knob often, but it's easier to turn it a little bit to get a different sound than to have to go over to my amp and mess with the settings.I personally don't care for its design or the fact that it's a signature bass; you should play an instrument because you like the sound and not how it looks. It's built pretty well and would be good for playing punk I guess, but I prefer the Fender standard P-bass.
