For the price, this is an amazing bass. The Squier has came along very,very well. great tone. great player. beautiful finish. fast neck, little setup needed, sounded great amped or recorded. Guitar feels solid. not too heavy and the tone mod works great. Much rather play this than my 73 German made Hofner. Musicians Friend has a great price on a great bass. If you need one, now is the time to buy.

for the price can't do better than this guy right here. u can play with the volumes of each pickup to get almost any sound for any style music. bass boost adds a lot to the presence and i only play with it about half dial. treble gets left full dial. simply put its the best of both words in the P and J family of bass guitars and mine plays wonderful i prefer it over any bass I've owned so far. even with only 20 frets. only complaint would be cosmetically they could do a little more in quality i feel this bass looks amazing from 3 feet away or more but when u really start looking at it you can see little things that shows its not a real fender. however for this price range this thing feels amazing to play and came set up almost perfect. bought as a backup became my main bass. bottom line if your even looking at a bass in this price range then i would highly recommend this one. i even tune this guy down to drop c alot and it handles it pretty well with some light top med bottom d'addario strings. get the heavy gauge though if you drop tune that low for everything though

I just bought this about an hour ago,in candy apple red finish. let me start by saying,this bass looks awesome. the finish looks like it should be on something much more expensive. the quality is amazing.it wasnt set up perfectly because I bought it from a music store,but all the frets are level and it feels like a million bucks. it has a really fat punchy sound that I'm sure would work in almost any style. the body balances nicely and the neck is really nice. it feels kinda like a cross between P and J neck profiles. all in all,it's an amazing bass,and it's worth more than what they want for it.I would recommend this as a starter bass or even a backup for a pro,it won't disappoint you. my only gripe is that the body is made of multiple peices of wood,and the grain doesn't match up even close to correctly.

just got this today in the mail...awesome bass!!! i have owned many fender basses, and a few of the cheaper squire basses...and this squire jaguar can give the heavier priced fenders a run for there money!!! the p bass and jazz bass pickups are a nice feature, love to bounce around between the two, and there active!!! by far the best bass in this price range!!!

It immediately connects you with the music and gets out of the way. The active controls are ergonomic and versatile. the tone and action are beyond all expectations. the neck is porous though and came with an ink (or something blue) stain that couldn't be polished out (so far) and the tone controls were put on wrong(?). With no numbers or metal pointers, it is not immediately apparent what they are set at. These are the quality issues that bring the rating down to 4. I'll continue removing the stain, and putting numbered (1-10) knobs with metal pointers underneath is no problem and probably more a personal preference than quality issue. I'd like to rate it 4 1/2 due to the blue smudges on the neck (they polished off of the body just fine). This is the most fun I have ever had playing a bass and that is all that matters. It's a facilitator Bass!

This is a pretty nice Bass Guitar: Stays in tune well. And you can get a useful variety of tones from it. The Boost/Cut control is sweet,and makes a very noticeable difference in your sound.
The price is definitely right! I encourage you to get 1 or 2 or 3 of these before they get wise and change the price. You WIll Love It!
