OVERVIEW

The 5-string big brother to the awesome RAY34CA.

The Ray35CA is the newest addition to the Sterling 5-String Bass offering. Sharing the same basic body and electronic specs as it's 4-string Ray34CA Classic Active counterpart, Ray35CA is a no-nonsense, tone machine workhorse.

The Classic Active Series basses deliver old school vibe and looks for the vintage enthusiast. Lightweight slab bodies (no belly or forearm contours). The glossy amber tinted neck features a narrow 45 mm nut width, 34" scale and 21 thin vintage style frets. The finish is a hard glossy coat that exudes the vibe and look of an older instrument.

Comments about Sterling by Music Man RAY35CA 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

After listening to the many 77-78 stingrays
on youtube, I've found that this model comes
as close to the Leo Fender stingray tone as
you will get. Better than the classic series!!!!!

Comments about Sterling by Music Man RAY35CA 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I'm a guitar player who wanted a decent bass to experiment with. Previously I owned an Ibanez SR200 and wanted to step up. My bass shipped so that it required a setup when it arrived. Not a problem for me. Strings needed to be lowered to 3/32nd on the 17th fret. Plays and balances beautifully now. Great tone. For a guitar player it was getting used to the weight of a 5 string. I think it weighs around 13 lbs so a good strap is necessary. The intonation was spot on. No adjustments there. I think this is a fine bass. It seems well made, the frets are fine and polished and once the bass it set up it plays very well. I'm really going to like playing this for the next 10 years or so.
