Comments about Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Bass:

I bought this for my son, the size is just perfect to take everywhere. The strings that comes with are not the best and the sound if you hook it up to a amp is way to metallic. I added a "Korg Mini Stomp Box" and it made it just a perfect instrument, you can alter the sound, have volume, even make it sound like an electric guitar, sounds great with a small "Lyon amp" so its a kit to take when you travel.
The piece by itself is a 3 stars, with the stomp box is a 5+. (I also altered the body by adding a removable piece on the top so the strap can sit just like a regular bass guitar one. (see pic)

Comments about Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Bass:

Took it out of the box, went to practice- played it the whole time. The sustain was surprising. I have back problems, so I wanted something I could use to practice for hours with and not pay for it the next day. Now, I plan on playing it at shows. The 30 scale is great for more complex lines, and the novelty of it is cool. It's is a little hard to slide, because it's so light, but my back is thankful. I would recommend it to anyone who is a grinder like me when it comes to practice. If you play much you probably have more than one bass- It's a great addition to my collection.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Bass:

PROS: At first I was really excited to have a small practice bass for the office or travel companion. This bass fits these needs; especially the size. You can store and carry it anywhere. This bass at 30" is quite a bit shorter than a full scall but still matched the notes down the frets of my regular size bass.
CONS: No volume control, low volume and no action adjustment. This is one piece of wood and I don't believe it would do well if you had to repair it.(Wood or electronics)
OVERALL: I returned this bass because the value just wasn't there. Your 399 would be better spent on a TB-49 made by Traveler Guitar or a Steinberger copy. I would buy this bass again but only at a significantly reduced price. This bass would be better priced below 200.(w/coupon)
