Comments about Warwick Corvette Rockbass $ 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
As a owner of a vintage Jazz bass, and a Yamaha 5; I was looking for that good 'ash' tone. Warwick has it! It has the 'funk' of my Jazz, and has that 'snap',but it's brighter. The weight is great, especially after playing my '78 Jazz for years. This Bass brings a 'funky' tone to Church Choirs! For the money? A GREAT Bass!

Comments about Warwick Corvette Rockbass $ 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
I typically don't write reviews, but I just read a review of this bass that was just so far off of my experience, that I was compelled to share my very positive thoughts.
My History and Bass Search: I have played guitar and drums in several projects over the years. A year ago, I found myself in the position of moving to bass for a side project. As this was not my primary gig, I did not necessarily want to shell out $1500 on an entry level, top end bass. So I looked on line and found a Warwick 5 string $$ Rockbass, which I purchased. It was a great decision and it played amazingly well with just a simple set up. I had tried out pretty much everything out there in this price range; all of which left me feeling like I was going to have to break down and dump that $1500 on something decent. Not this bass. From the moment I picked it up, it just felt right.
"It's too heavy...." Some say "it's too heavy"...It feels just right for me. Even if it was a bit heavy, I would gladly sacrifice the luxury of a lighter bass for the tone of the Rockbass $$ any day, hands down. I've gone through epic practice sessions and hour long sets without any fatigue. Man up and hit the gym every once in a while, whiners! :D
Observations: The neck is quite big and C shaped. I do have big hands so this is not a problem for me but guys with smaller hands may find their hands getting tired. If anything, this would be more of an issue to most than the weight of the bass itself. If you have an opprotunity to check one out in the flesh.....do it to see if it fits you.
Deep Tone: The tone is very warm and is capable of the growl which Warwick is so known for. I've played quite a few shows over the past months and always receive the best compliments on my sound.
Overall Build: Bridge, nut, and tuners all have a good quality feel to them and adjustments are very easy to zero-in on. My bass came with Warwick straplocks which worked perfectly. These also work with the Dunlop straplocks, just FYI. I use the same strap for my guitars which have Dunlops installed. They lock perfectly.
At the end of the day, I would definitely buy another Warwick Rockbass and actually have my eye on a nice fretless as I type this review.
Cheers all.

Comments about Warwick Corvette Rockbass $ 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
This bass was a horrible buy. Poor craftsmanship. Heavy as all hell, Finish was unbelieveably tacky and the neck was ridiculously difficult to play. While the Idea of MM style pickups on a five string seemed like a good idea, the sound was far below what it should have been at this price. The control knobs were so loose they would sometimes even roll on their own and knock your volume and tone settings way off. I dont know if this is common of all instruments in the Rockbass series. But nevertheless, shame on you Warwick. Sold it for a new Soundgear.
Comments about Warwick Corvette Rockbass $ 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Love the five string tone, and the look. I have the solid black and it is a fine looking and sounding bass.
It is passive, which is a postive and a negative. You don't worry about batteries every few months, but you don't have a huge number of options. Although Warwick has the pull up knobs, giving you two for the price of one, it contains fewer options than an active pickup bass.
So far, out of the box, it is has great quality. It was set up perfectly (for me) and remains so. Stays in tune, no problems with the electronics. Pretty much what you would expect from Warwick.
A bit pricey for Passive Electronics (am I being unfair to hit the passive electronics twice)? But, I'd still pay the price for this one. It has a great sound and is a solid guitar.
Comments about Warwick Corvette Rockbass $ 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
This is one of the best basses i have owned or played second only to a Rickenbacker, it is one of cleanest sounding basses with a deep rich tone. the passive Mec pickups are amazing with a deep vibrant tone, the mahogany wood in nirvana black is a nice heavy wood with a great feel the neck is smooth and amazing, it is a true metal bass, but will work for any genre.
Comments about Warwick Corvette Rockbass $ 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
I just bought this bass because I love the Warwick sound. I owed a 6 string Corvette now that bass was HEAVEY.My Dr. said get a lighter bass or get a day job. This bass is heaver then others but it is not THAT bad plus I use a wide padded strap. The sound is Warwick. For the money it fits my bill.I wouldn't use it for Rock but for what I do it's the Warwick sound I want.
Comments about Warwick Corvette Rockbass $ 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
as you cna judge by the title, this bass is very very heavy. its probably those pickup magnets that are causing it to be heavy. i have played better but this is actually a pretty good bass. it sounds good, it plays well but while i was searching for a bass as a christmas present, i thought about getting this bass but, i decided not to. i will write some things that are bad about it: its to heavy, it sounds like you play for a jazz band, its too heavy, the pickup magnets are horrible, its too heavy, it looks like a crapy toyota prius, its too heavy, not the best sound, its too heavy, its too overpriced, its too heavy, and there needs to be better finishes. if i had to play with this bass for the rest of my life, i would rather have a very bad case of swine flew. did i mention that it's too heav? just to let you know, i'm going to send Warwick a complaint and i don't care if they don't read it.
