Satisfied Customer

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic Active Electric Bass:

I'm a music director, band coach, teacher, and gigging musician. When I received this bass I threw it immediately into action. In one week I used it in a Gospel choir, classic rock band, Elvis tribute, British Invasion show, and who knows what else. Since, I've set it up and have it ready for another week of who knows what. Great bass!
A lot of bang for the buck. I didn't expect a lot nor demand too much considering the price I paid. I was looking for a simple bass to gig and teach with.
It did need a setup out of the box. But after adjusting the neck and bridge, it played just the way I like it.
It a lightweight instrument that looks good, the neck feels good, and, most importantly, has great tone. After one solid week of sessions, probably 20+ hours of playing time, this bass went from backup to main axe.

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic Active Electric Bass:

I picked up this bass about 18 months ago and it was the best decision I have ever made. Playing in metal it's hard to get a "cut through" tone out of bass, that's unique and can compliment down tuned guitars (drop C) without being muddy. I have owned several ESP basses and a few Ibanez basses. Nothing seemed to equal the playability of this bass. From extreme slap and pop to blistering notation this bass does it all. It's extremely light and can easily be thrown around while performing an intense stage show. I use this bass through a PD7 Phat-Head overdrive pedal and a Sans-Amp DI box and that's all I need to have a great meaty tone or an over the top solo tone. If you're looking for a "standout" tone that can be easily manipulated this is the bass for you and it wont break the bank!

Just a great bass!

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic Active Electric Bass:

These basses are well constructed, are pleasing to behold, and most of all sound fantastic. I have not tried one of the German models, but after my experience with the Rockbass Corvette, I may just have to save the money to get a German Warwick. I had to some minor adjustments to the bridge, and the height of the bass pickup, other than that the factory setup was fine. The neck is set in the body so tightly that you cannot fit a piece of in the joint. Mine came in the natural finish, which is perhaps a tad Spartan for most people, but wood stain is not that expensive, so that is an easy fix. The fretboard is a really nice grade of rosewood and at least a quarter of an inch thick; lovely. I am considering installing Hipshot tuners, but it is for strictly cosmetic reasons as the stock tuners are fine. I really do not believe that you can do any better than this at this price range; it is no wonder to me that the Rockbass line received top marks from Bass Player magazine.

Excellent Bass

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic Active Electric Bass:

Low and behold, Warwick does us all a favor and restarts the Rockbass line, making their specs much closer to an expensive model. The feel is far closer to the Corvette Standard than the previous RockBass line, sporting the real Warwick bridge. I can't stress enough that this is a great bass that won't break the bank. The active MEC pickups sound fantastic, and the active EQ gives you fantastic versatility that the passive model can't provide. I can reach a low end thump to a distorted growl, and even a little Jaco style ring, all in one instrument. Heads up though, if you're like me, than there will be some setup required (i.e. bridge adjustment, string replacement, etc.). Not really a problem, but it is noteworthy. What was a con was that there was a slight quality control issue: on of my pots was slightly tilted, having been installed incorrectly. I fixed it, but I shouldn't have had to. Other than that, no complaints! Overall just a fantastic instrument for those bassists a budget.

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic Active Electric Bass:

I own two German Warwicks and this feels pretty close. I actualy like the maple neck better because it makes the bass a lot lighter. I have owned this bass for a couple of weeks and have had no problems. It just feels and sounds good. The older Rock basses did have some problems, but Warwick seems to have addressed those issues. I would definitely buy another.

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic Active Electric Bass:

Have owned three Warwicks and every single one of them has had neck issues straight from the factory. Everything from twisting, bumps, uneven fretboards and frets pulling out of the wood. After the first one I thought maybe it was a fluke. Second one had me concerned and the last one turned me off to the company completely. It takes 3 months to get a replacement neck and that's after you send the original neck back to them. Customer service is non-existent. They may return your email in a week if at all. Steer clear of this company.

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic Active Electric Bass:

After doing a ton of research, I made the Rockbass Corvette my first bass purchase about 4 yrs ago. Love this bass. Especially for the price. At the time, I couldn't really appreciate the quality of this instrument, but now that I've been playing for a while and have had a chance to play around with multiple instruments, I have to say, this bass is wonderful. You can get plenty of great tones from it and it always maintains a beefy, meaty sound. It's lightweight. It's sexy. And can take some abuse.
I always found it a little difficult to play near the bridge pickup (it's so tight down there, it's been hard to get a good sound), but I'm actually having mine adjusted professionally right now, so hopefully, when I get it back, things will be a little better. Either way, if you're on the fence about getting this bass, I'd suggest getting one. Definitely worth the money, in my humble opinion.

Comments about Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic Active Electric Bass:

Great bass for the money. Lovely tone. Great feel to the neck and fretboard. It had a slight buzz at the base of the neck, where it bolts on to the body. I tightened the screws, and the buzz went away. I use this bass for gigging, and even the rest of the band prefer its sound to my old bass. It's lighter and easier on my neck and shoulder.

Amazing. Got this bass used and just had to slap new strings on and it sounds AMAZING! Feels awesome, plays awesome, is awesome. If you can get it used then that's a lot better since I picked it up for 200 Washingtons. Definitely worth it.
