Very pricey, but it's worth it.

Comments about Warwick Thumb Bass Guitar 4-String:

I played this bass at a shop through an Acoustic B100 amp, and it sounded phenomenol. Everything about it, tonaly, is perfect. For me, at least. The bubinga body gives it a VERY thick, heavy sound, but it can still get clear highs. Not necessarily crisp, mind you, but I really like it. If you want something more fashioned for a brighter, crisper sound, go for a Fender P-Bass or a Rickenbacker. As I said before, the bubinga body really accentuates the low frequencies because it is such a dense wood. This also means that it weighs ALOT more than you'd think. It does sit very comfortably on your hip, and the neck is the fastest I've ever felt. You can really get around quick. If you want to get an idea of what it sounds like, just listen to The Dave Matthew's Band. I know that the bassist uses Warwick's.

awesome, but not perfect

Comments about Warwick Thumb Bass Guitar 4-String:

i played this one at the store through a line 6 ampfirst off, this bass sounds amazing. dark and growly, but still plenty of clarity. it also looks great. there are no problems therethis bass weighs a ton however. much more than you would expect for such a small body. luckily it's contoured and fits comfortably. also, if you cant tell, its really expensive. really, really expensive. this is most likely due to import fees and expensive European labor, as 4000ish dollars is more into the boutique bass price ranges. dont get me wrong, this bass is excellent quality, its just not customized for the customer.

Ive had this Thumb NT for 2 years. It is the best bass I have ever played. The Warwick growl really shines here. This bass is PERFECTION. Warwick is by far the best bass maker in the world.

Comments about Warwick Thumb Bass Guitar 4-String:

This bass is a Killer! the sound has a wonderful tight growl to it, but can very easily play softer stuff! i play this in my church band, and is plays great! i switched from a bolt on 4 string thumb, and it cant even compare to this one! very easy to play, so much that i can play scales without my right hand. almost plays it's self! A must have! get this one instead of the bolt on. It is the best that warwick has to offer.

    the sound of wood

Comments about Warwick Thumb Bass Guitar 4-String:

Even though that is Warwick's 'motto', it really is truth. Yes, Warwicks are not cheap. Yes Warwicks are not what 'everybody else plays'. But, in this case, you do get what you paid for. Tone, clarity, ease of playing, ease of maintenance. And THAT sound. And in 40 plus years of playing, nothing else compares to, or is a Warwick.

    The Warwick Thumb Bass

    By Thumper-aYyX1

Comments about Warwick Thumb Bass Guitar 4-String:

I have owned this bass for over 10 years and it honestly made me a better bass player. The sound and feel of this bass is truely amazing. In the studio our producer commented that he had never plugged in a bass that had such great tone and compression, little filtering if any was needed to clean the sound. Live, this bass simply put provides the rhythm section solid rich low tones that move the music along.

Comments about Warwick Thumb Bass Guitar 4-String:

I have played a Thumb bass since 1998, and I will never part with it. If you want a bass that is easy to play and won't wear you out while you play, the Thumb is what you are looking for. I can only say that the connection you make with this bass is 100% natural. It takes little time to get used to it, and once you do, the Thumb seems to play itself. I own a Modulus, a Godin and a Schecter California Custom, but I will never, ever sell my Thumb. I can't make any other bass sound like it. And none of my other basses are as easy to play.

Comments about Warwick Thumb Bass Guitar 4-String:

I've been playing bass for around 11 years and Since my 3rd year playing i've owned nothing but warwicks. keep in mind that i've played every make of bass there is. But the Warwick thumb with a neck-thru system is the by far smoothest sweetest most crisp sounding bass i've ever played and i would never chose anything over it.. highly recommended by me. also really good body configuration for slap players and funk musicians.
