Great vintage style bass

I have the trans cherry version of this bass and it is great! Looks amazing and I love the sound. As you would expect from this design, you get a fat, thumpy tone that is killer.I like the thin neck, though it is pretty thin, so if you are used to a Fender, it takes some getting used to.

The positives: good tone, tonal range; light weight; good appearance - sunburst. The shorter 32in scale, really nice, fast neck with 1.5 in bone nut, etc.Negatives: The set neck had a fret board hump where it attaches to the body, the classic hump issue if you've ever had one - all upper register can't be played. A slight twist in the neck, treble side.Buckle rash on the back.Top of frets were rough, still had file marks, if was leveled, or maybe string indentation on softer metal from laying on them in shipping, who knows, they were rough though. And, narrow.Nicks in the finish upper bouts.Unplugged volume no better than a solid body. Though this hollow body does contribute to the tone noted above.Something big rattling around inside, wood on wood, not a wire flapping, something loose - but couldn't see it in the F hole.Overall a great disappointment, extremely poor QA, a check prior to shipping would help in these cases. Not a really cheap guitar either... but for any price, cheap or not, should be - correct -. And, I own some imports I paid substantially less for, and were 1000x's better in quality control, etc.It was returned.
