A bass that is tonally in its own zone.
Tom Petersson of Cheap Trick fame is widely given credit for the concept of the 12-string bass. Waterstone has taken all of the style that Tom is known for and packaged it into one spectacular bass. Its mahogany semi-hollowbody construction, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard match perfectly with its dual humbucker pickups. It gets a chorus-like jangle sound that is very rich and powerful. Includes hardshell case.

This bass sounds amazing! It's well-made and stays in tune, even on tour with lots of temperature changes and bouncing around.
Never played a 12'er, but was intrigued with the concept when discovered. I took the leap!!!I finally had recieved it. In black. Hand fit around neck like a glove. Neck smaller around in size then I imagined, but similiar to my 5-string. The weight is just a little heavier then my 5 string Fender. Weight has not effected my playing. The number of strings has. Getting use to it, though. Reminds me of a 4003 Ric. and a Hofner, if they were smashed together. Even the cosmetics of it does. It's beautiful. Classic look. The semi-hollow body gives a great sustainable full lower tone. Option to switch pickups gives diverse sounds for high/low toned strings. Depends what you'll be using the 12'er for.Makes a three piece band sound bigger.I have no regrets. Been happy eversince I've opening the package. Why 12? 'cause "Eight is NOT Enough".
I have one of the original series with the wider neck, and due to this company listening to the "little people" like myself (I'm a 22 year 12 string bass veteran) Waterstone made changes to this current product line that truly make the bass Rock with an improved smaller neck width. The sound of the TP bass is vast. You can go from the Cheap Trick sound to a nice fat low bass sound on these 12's, plus there is enough room to finger pick and slap the strings for some crazy sounds from those octives. If you prefer 8 string basses, buy a 12 and remove 4 strings, that way you have the best of both worlds when you want it. That is another plus of the 12 string model. You can have it both ways.
