I've been wanting a fretless for quite some time, and this didn't disappoint. I'm happy with the thin lines on the fretboard which helps with finger placement. The playablility has makes going back and forth between fretted and fretless very easy. The tone of the bass is killer, it's got a great "growl" when sliding around. The active pickups provide an extremely clean, load signal. In fact, I also have a fretted 6-string Yamaha from ~1997 that also has active pickups. When I switch back and forth, the sound engineer at our church noticed that the volume and clarity of the bass jumps up quite a bit on the fretless. My only complaint is that the bass comes strung with roundwound strings, which after a few minutes of playing was scratching the fretboard. I bought a set of halfwounds which I'm real happy with. I love the quality and the price is great!
