OVERVIEW

An inside look at the tumultuous life and scorching playing of a blues legend.

Incurable Blues - The Troubles & Triumph of Blues Legend Hubert Sumlin, is a study of the pickless playing of this blues master. Sumlin's playing has inspired numerous blues-rock luminaries, including Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, The Rolling Stones and Jack White. Well-known for his fiery playing on the classic Howlin' Wolf recordings on Chess, he has survived illness, substance abuse, and many other personal and professional tribulations, and still records and tours at the age of 73.

The book explores Hubert's life and genius, analyzing Hubert's playing and performing style in context with African folk, early masters like Robert Johnson, the revisionist British invasion guitarists and the modern styles of Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Mayer.

Author Will Romano has taught media and marketing at Fordham University in Manhattan, and has written for many diverse publications. 256 pages.

A great read for anyone who loves music. Order today.
