Comments about Berklee Press Essential Songwriter Book:

This book does little to explain the mechanics (theory) with which the progressions are deviced. They are presently by key in the Major, Minor, Mixolydian, Dorian, and Blues. It also includes 53 songwriting ideas, Hit Song Forms, the Songwriting Process, and Resources. However it is a Pocket guide and must be viewed as such.I'd recommend it for intermediate players who hav a grasp on the fundamentals of chord progressions. However, if you are trying to figure what progressions are and from where they derived I'd look elsewhere.
