Comments about Hal Leonard Beginning Blues Guitar (Book/CD):
Hal Leonard's Beginning Blues Guitar is written By Dave Rubin and it is a great way to learn the basics of Blues. It launched me out of beginner status. The systematic path is well thought out and really helped me build my foundation quickly. Everything is clear and the CD (get the CD!) is very well done ( I used a CD guitar trainer, but probably not needed). I did have to acquire some supplemental information to help me understand some specifics on Keys and shifting scale boxes, but it's in there, I just could not figure it out on my own. It does not cut corners and each section prepares you for the next which is great for trying to learn on your own. A great boogie rhythm 12 bar for stretching and strengthening your pinky! I selected this book because a local Blues teacher uses this book for his adult education class. It only gets you off the ground and for the price it does about as much as possible, but It worked for me and left me hungary for more. My next Blues book will be by Dave Rubin for sure!
