A year's worth of 1-lick-per-day exercises to build and maintain your guitar skill.
From the former editor of Guitar One magazine, here is a daily dose of vitamins to keep your chops fine tuned for a full 52 weeks. The guitar exercises cover several musical styles including rock, blues, jazz, metal, country, and funk. Techniques taught include alternate picking, arpeggios, sweep picking, string skipping, legato, string bending, and rhythm guitar. These exercises will increase your speed and improve your dexterity and pick- and fret-hand accuracy the more you practice them. The accompanying CDs include all 365 workout licks plus play-along grooves in every style at eight different metronome settings.

Comments about Hal Leonard Guitar Aerobics - Book/2-CD Pack:
A great variety of techniques to practice and learn . . . suited for beginners (well not absolute beginners but once you have some weeks under your belt you should be able to deal with the material starting at the fist lesson) up all the way to more advanced players. And the material is nicely presented in a way that doesn't make practicing the stereotypical scale exercise.
Greatly recommended for anyone looking for a practice book (if you could see a couple of pages it would really be a no brainer buying this . . . it's worth every penny whether you take lessons or work on your own).
One note though . . . it's really intended for electric guitar.
