This book/CD combo is very good for novice banjo players. I am 59 yrs old. I found this item to be great for any age. Within a couple of weeks of basic rolls, hammer offs, and plucks, you will be able to play some great banjo songs included in the book/cd. I recommend this to anyone of any age who want to learns to play the banjo
