Comments about iSong Robert Johnson CD-ROM:

This software is a good learning tool. You can play along with the recorded version while viewing the scrolling tablature. There are three levels of complexity with a tab for each as well as a video of the fingering. The tuning is displayed, in this case some normal, some open G.The use of the slide is indicated where applicable. The only negative is the quality if the midi version, it could be my sound card, but this does not have a good sound and is only useful in that you can play the track at any speed which you can't do with the original artist's version.Until I tried this CD, I really haven't had experience with open tuning, capo's or slides. This give you a good lesson in all.Four songs out of six use a capo and about half have some slide work. The ones with the slide are probably in open G tuning. If you don't want to use a capo or slide or re-tune this wouldn't be the best software to start with. But if you want to learn Robert Johnson's technique, you can play along while he sings. Because the songs were recorded in 1937 the audio quality is not great but his voice really stands out from the guitar so you can easily play over the recorded guitar volume and still get strong vocals to accompany.
