Comments about Mel Bay Easiest Electric Bass Book:
I purchased two entry level books (packages). I bought this book because it was cheap, said it was easy and implied it was for beginners. I bought a similar, slightly more expensive Hal Leonard beginners package. Both had virtually identical information; music and tabliture to describe basic bass notes, scales and riffs. The Hal Leonard explained everything. The Mel Bay explained nothing.
If you already know how to play bass (and read music) then the Mel Bay book may be something you can understand, but if you already play bass (and read music), you probably already know the material. Don't bother with this book.
