OVERVIEW

8-1/2 hours of live Metallica that will leave you drained!

Metallica is a band known for not doing things halfway, and when they set out to make a live album, they did it on an epic scale.

This mammoth set features three entire concerts--one on CD and two on video. The 3-CD Mexico City show is culled from the band's 5-night stand at the city's Sports Palace. The 2-sided DVD features a 1992 show at San Diego's Sports Arena on one side and a 1989 show at the Seattle Coliseum on the other.

If that wasn't enough, the package also comes extensive souvenir booklet content on the DVD, a Metallica stencil, a replica of a "snakepit pass" from the 1992-93 tour, and more. An amazingly in-depth set that covers two tours and 4 years on the road with this legendary band.

Metallica at its best!

By Roland-zAp_L

This is the best live package of any band I own! Not only do you get 3 concerts for a moderate price, it also displays Metallica at their very peak. The raw energy and power displayed on this recordings are unmatched, even by themselves. My favorite cconcert is the one from Seattle, especially the passage Bass Solo (with an excerpt of To Live Is To Die) - Master of Puppets - Fade To Black. Incredible! If you are a fan of heavy music, definitely buy this one.

A must have for any fan of metal

Metallica has gained and lost many fans over the years. Some people argue that album "x" is better than album "y" and that they sold out on that album, whether it is the black album, or load or St. Anger that you lost touch with Metallica or even if you never lost touch you will still love this DVD set. It gives you 3 shows of Metallica at their musical peak. There is a show from the Damaged Justice tour (my personal favorite of the collection) and it features material from "Kill em All" to "...and justice for all." Then we have two shows from the black album tour. They are also great shows, but ...and justice for all was Metallica at their most brilliant. The only things I dislike about this concert are very minimal. I do not like how the CD's were poorly edited so that the tracks do not flow well if you listen to an individual track. Like in the song "One" the first thing you hear is the last chord of "Last Caress." I think that the songs should have been edited so as soon as you go to it would be the start of that song. That is not a problem if you listen to the album in its entirety. Another problem I have is some of the DVD stuff, such as for "And justice for all" the volume swells down and then you hear the intro from the album. It is a great investment though. The issues I have with the album do not outweigh the greatness of it by a long shot.
