I've played guitar for a while, but I just picked up the banjo. I needed something to introduce me to the world of rolls, blends, and thumb picks. This video (and especially the included tab booklet) was perfect! I got just what I needed to start on my own path of learning banjo that I wanted to play. It's perfect for learning the basics and at this price, it doesn't even matter that it becomes easy/unnecessary after a while because by then you will have already gotten your money's worth.

Your'll be glad you got it.
I taught myself how to play the banjo and learned several songs. However I didn't know the banjo rolls that are taught on the DVD. This will not only advance my playing ablilty but inprove the quality of my playing also. This DVD will by far help a beginner advance alot faster by its step by step lessons. I play by ear so learning to read the music tabs are also a big plus and the split screen really helps to enhance the learning process. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to play the banjo.
The Beginning Banjo DVD will be a good investment tool that serve as a great reference.

As a beginner, this product was a must for me and I was glad I chose it. Beginning Banjo could not have been explained any simpler in the DVD. The lessons on playing specific songs was very easy to understand and learning playing "Cripple Creek" was my favorite. I highly recommend it.
