Alfred

Not just a songbook, but a total experience.

The Alfred book Dream Theater: Keyboard Experience delivers note-for-note keyboard transcriptions of nine keyboard-intense Dream Theater songs from 1992-2007. You also get amazing full-color concert and behind-the-'boards photos. There's even a personal Q&A conversation with Jordan Rudess in which he reveals details of his playing style and the experience of jamming and writing with rock virtuoso band mates Dream Theater. What's more, Rudess wrote special "exercise" pieces to precede each song, each focusing on a challenging playing technique unique to the corresponding Dream Theater songs that follow. A must-own collectible for all fans.

"I speak for all progressive keyboardists when i say its about time there is another Dream Theater keyboard book ! As much as i enjoy trying to transcribe my own scores for this technically intense music, I would much rather have the notes in my face ! This book has everything you need to play these songs (with the right previous training). The exercises written by Jordan are GREAT! They really capture the techniques needed for the songs. The book made me laugh when i see program descriptions such as "Dirty Pig" and "Trippy Piano". As strange as this seems, a true Rudess fan totally understands the meaning of these descriptions HAHA I just hope this book opens the door for MORE keyboard books like this in the future ! Thanks a million Alfred Publishing and Jordan Rudess YOU ROCK!!! "
