Rich mellow sound & robust construction

Comments about Amati ABG 201II Series Bb Bugle:

Don't believe the photograph! This horn is not a field trumpet as depicted, but a single-wrap clarion style bugle. This bugle has a very rich, mellow sound very reminiscent of a flugelhorn and mine plays well in tune up to high G. The slot between high G and Bb is very tight, however making it easy to overshoot the G slot. It's well made of heavy brass with a large bell and a very handsome instrument. A good bargain for the price - especially if you don't have the money (right now) for the Getzen American Heritage Field Trumpet or the Kanstul Field Trumpet, but want to play "Taps" on a real bugle.
