Comments about Cool Wind CTB-200 Series F-Attachment Trombone:
After 20 years of symphony playing I sold all of my playing horns (Bach 42B) and quite the business for a computer job (upwardly mobile) in 1993. The full time orchestra that I played in died a horrible but predictable death and I decided to let my trombone playing die with it. I sold 3 Bachs, and 1 Conn but after a while missed the bone. This new CoolWind large bore tenor with F-attachment looks very promising. The valve and lead pipe appear to be made of brass which is a good thing. But I do have some questions. What type of lubrication do I use on the slide. Water and plain cold cream as used on all brass instruments seem to be out of the question. The slide seemed to be sold with a tiny bit of dry lube on it, probably fine carbon granules. I would like to know from others what is best. Another question. How do I lubricate the valve? The valve cap does not seem to unscrew like traditional ones. I hope to get some answers from the provider or CoolWind.
