Bought this a year ago for my nine year old son to play in beginning band. He is still using it in his second year playing. It is not a fine professional instrument, but it is an excellent choice for a beginner - especially if you are hesitant to invest a lot of money not knowing if the student will continue or quit. The biggest problem with bargain basement priced imported instruments is that it is nearly impossible to have them repaired. There is no parts channel like there would be for established manufacturers like Yamaha or Selmer, and repair shops don't want to touch them because they are afraid they will be blamed for other problems that arise due to cheap construction. For that reason I would avoid super-cheap "complex" instruments like clarinets or saxes because of the greater likelihood of the need for a repair. Because there is so much less that can go wrong on a trombone, I think it is worth the risk that a repair would ever be necessary.
    Plastic case and mouthpiece included.
    Not great, but functional.
Excellent value. Price is so low that even if it only lasted a year it would still be cheaper than renting a more expensive instrument.

My experience was less than average. I paid for two day shipping on Sunday. Ididn't get it until the following friday. When I opened the case and took off the plastic there were dings in the bell. Because I paid so little, and only bought it to get my chops back into shape, I didn't demand satisfaction. Then they sent me an email to write a review. So here it is.

Comments about Etude Series Student Trombone Model ETB-100:

From start to finish, the ordering process was excellent. We received our trombone with no delays, and the price was absolutely wonderful for back to school students. The appearance was great, and the musical sound was on point. I will definitely recommend Musician's Friend to everyone, especially parents looking to buy an instrument for their child.

Comments about Etude Series Student Trombone Model ETB-100:

When I saw the price and reviews of this trombone I knew that it was a no brainer to purchase it. For a kid who is in band for the 1st time ever this is a great instrument. Our alternative would be to rent locally and renting for only part of the year doesn't even pay for the used instrument offered, so we figured we'd take a chance and buy this instrument. We added the inexpensive ($9.99) service plan and we figured we had nothing to lose. The customer service at Musician's Friend is unbelievably good and I would highly recommend them. US based and they speak English! I've already recommended them. Every musice teacher in the country should be recommending them too.

Comments about Etude Series Student Trombone Model ETB-100:

We used this as a prop in a school play. I did have the chance to use it a bit before handing it over to the kids. For the money. a good value, but if you want to play this instrument, spend some more money and buy the real thing.
