Comments about Hercules Stands DS420B TravLite In-Bell Trombone Stand:

I dismissed my fellow trombonists who said the clamp broke easily. Mine did the same thing after just a few uses. Ridiculous to pay this much for a stand and have it break. It's also a hassle to open it. I'm going back to good old Hamilton.

Comments about Hercules Stands DS420B TravLite In-Bell Trombone Stand:

I've had my 2 trombone stands for almost a year now and they still work very well. I use them anywhere I play or rehearse because they so conveniently fit inside the bell. They even fit in my 2B's 7 1/2" bell without trouble. They also hold the weight of my bass trombone. They're tough, I've even flown with them and they suffered no damage. My only issue is that the foam on the tip easily comes off leaving the bare metal that could scratch the bell. A little duct tape fixes that however. They also put your case off balance, but I can live with that.

Comments about Hercules Stands DS420B TravLite In-Bell Trombone Stand:

This stand is really good and durable. But it really cant hold trombone that has F attachment. Well, it CAN but it tilts a little. Except that, it's a good stand.

              Had to Return It

              By Jeff Stewart

              from Georgia

Comments about Hercules Stands DS420B TravLite In-Bell Trombone Stand:

I really wanted to like this stand, because it seemed like it would have been perfect for my needs. It was very sturdy and compact when I took it out of the box, and everything looked like it should. I set it up without the help of instructions that were not included. I adjusted the height accordingly for my trombone, but soon found out was wrong with it. After I put the trombone's weight on the stand, the adjusting piece that holds up the trombone by the bell gave way and began to slide down the rod, and my trombone went when with it. I found out that the only thing that holds up the trombone's weight is a small plastic clamp that is supposed to pinch against the side of the rod, that operates by a switch on the side of the bell holder. The bell holder does not click or lock into place, and the mediocre pinching mechanism did not even work brand new out of the box. The durability, and portability of this stand is useless unless it can actually hold up a trombone safely. It is a very poor design flaw by Hercules. I normally really like their stands for guitars and mics, but this is a bust.
It's very expensive, considering that it can't even hold up the weight of a trombone.
