Holton TR181 - Bass Bone

By Brian Hodges

from New Zealand

Comments about Holton TR181 Series Bass Trombone:

I own one of these babies. It has served me well for nearly 10 yrs now. When I first got it I was impressed with how responsive it was. No problem to give it heaps or play soft & gentle. This bone handles evrything with ease. It has a gorgueos sound & blends well in most situations. This Tbn personifies the real bass trombone sound. And believe me I have tried many different insts & I still love my Holton TR181.

The best a student could ever own.

Comments about Holton TR181 Series Bass Trombone:

When I was in high school, I played tuba and t-bone both. So naturaly, I obtained a bass t-bone to try out at all district. The Holton TR181 was so responsive, and it wasn't weird to hold with the extra trigger. It hasn't given me any problems and I have no difficulty playing a raunchy bass part and immediatly playing a tender tenor part. This T-bone is the most dynamic I've ever owned.

Played this for some time...

Comments about Holton TR181 Series Bass Trombone:

This trombone was an amazing bass trombone that I started with. It has great tone and the mechanical rotor setup gives it great precision. For a young player, it would be hard instrument to play for some time though. It is a bit awkward to hold, but it's not a big problem. It's a great instrument for advancing players.

awsome bass bone

By bass t-bone man

from Imperial MO

Comments about Holton TR181 Series Bass Trombone:

I saw this horn my freshman year in our schools top jazz band. It had a sound that blended beautifuly, but when needed could be heard over the entire band. I am now a senior, own it, and couldn't be happier. With the right mouthpiece it has an awsome symphonic sound. An all around great bass bone.
