Plays SHARP

By Hornblower-lWQEN

from Seattle

Comments about Humes & Berg 163 Tenor Trombone Metal Pixie Mute:

Good: Has a good, interesting tone, slightly more metallic, compared to regular stone-lined mutes from this company.Bad: Makes the pitch sharp! I tested it in the store against a known pitch, carefully centering my tone on the horn with and without the mute.Neither good nor bad: I use a King 3B and was hoping it would fit into the bell far enough so that I could leave it in the bell inside the case, but it sticks out about 3 inches. But this is not the show-stopper. I would have bought it anyway if it were not so sharp.

The mute to have

By Jason

from Fayetteville, AR

Comments about Humes & Berg 163 Tenor Trombone Metal Pixie Mute:

Every time I play this mute people sit up and turn their heads. Watch your pitch. Make sure you trim the cork accordingly. Great sound. You won't be disappointed.
