The handslide with feel smoother the more you play the instrument, and you can even play the instrument without the need for slide lubrication. The Jiggs pBone includes a plastic mouthpiece and carrying bag and is available in various colors.

For what it is...a plastic trombone, I'm very happy!
Just got my new pBone a few hours ago! I'm 53 and have been playing for more than 40 years, and I feel like a kid with a new toy! It is what it is...a plastic trombone, but that being said, I'm very happy with it! Can't beat the price...it's cheap! I wouldn't throw away my Edwards for legit stuff, and don't count on blending well with the section, but I can definitely see myself doing some jazz & rock gigs with it.
Anybody else have problems with their shoulder and neck after long practice sessions? This will definitely give you a little more face time. It's extremely light...And it's CHEAP!!
You won't have to worry aboyt dents and dings. The plastic is very durable. The instrument is very ergonomic (fits well in the hand). Mine is bright yellow.
The mouthpiece isn't too shabby either. I like it better than any mouthpiece that has come with my other instruments. I'm a stainless steel guy, but I'll actually USE this plastic mouthpiece.
What can you loose (did I mention, IT"S CHEAP)? It won't break your budget, and you'll get a kick out of it!
Face it. How many people adore Bill Watrous for his amazing tone (love ya Bill)? No, he just smokes the riffs! You can do that with this horn. Pedal tones are a bit tedious, but who cares...It's CHEAP!!
It is what it is...a plastic trombone. But it assembles hassle-free (just push the hand slide into the goose neck). It fits the hand better than anything I have. It feels surprizingly sturdy. It looks good. It's light weight. The mouthpiece is acceptable. The gig-bag is very funtional, and cased, is quite compact. Ever tried to carry a trombone on a motorcycle? Now you totally can.
Yup, it's well worth the price you'll pay for it! Might even get myself a spare.

The black Pbone plays nice, but it has a little bubble inside the outer slide receptacle, which makes a clicking sound and feeling. Too bad they don't look these things over before they ship. The bubble is hard, so it will be tough to get rid of it. I'll see if the repair guy can fix it before I decide to return it. It looks really understated, as it is almost flat black. The high D really doesn't want to play, and is flat.
The horn sounds really nice, though. I have a blue one that sounds really good, too.

Comments about Jiggs pBone Plastic Trombone:

I like just about everything about my white pBone; however, when trying to play a lot of jazz songs, the high G doesn't usually come out. There must be something about how the ABS resonates because I have tried my metal 6-1/2 which I usually use on my metal tenor and it still didn't come out. I also tried a 12c and nothing. Luckily in jazz it looks like I'm just playing with soul when I gliss up into it. Besides that, I really love the pBone. It will revolutionize the world of music education (especially the pBone mini).

I brought this thing to an A's game (got the green version of course) and I got on TV!!! It was pretty awesome. And the trombone itself, besides being the obvious eye candy attraction that it is, plays like a brass trombone. Yes, the sound isn't perfect, but for[$] there's no better way to get a plastic trombone. It's extremely light... and extremely fun.

Great fun to play. Quite responsive. Slide is OK but not like a brass instrument. Some of the notes come out a little out of tune in some registers and positions. (But it is a trombone, you can fix that.)

Comments about Jiggs pBone Plastic Trombone:

A bit of an adjustment - have to work harder to get air through it to make it sound like a brass instrument - it is easier to use if you also get a brass mouthpiece. But with some adjustment you can make it sound just like a brass trombone.

                      Jiggs P-Bone Accolades

                      By William Barnes

                      from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Jiggs pBone Plastic Trombone:

How wide-spread IS knowledge of this Jiggs P-Bone, anyway? If not already, its certainly destined to become ONE HOT ITEM! [Careful with the heat, though. Plastic melts]
Im old AND out-of-shape on all frontsbut heres the deal. Only a few minutes of messin with this new BLUE P-Bone got me to thinking: theres just so much junk goin on in the world today; but FINALLY! along comes an inexpensive, fairly simple inanimate object that can outright trigger an attitude adjustment! The fun factor built into this thing is totally phenomenal!
Though the vintage 48H was (about 6 years ago) all gone thru by the Slide Doctor, himself, its been tucked away in a safe place; at least in part, because its current condition is worthy of being preserved. Meanwhile, a handy instrument deficiency set in. [Oops. Forgot to mention the part about NOT having played in public for a couple decades+!]
                      Enter: The P-Bone!
Right now, got a Kelly 12C (also purchased from Musicians Friend -- a few years back) plugged-into the P-Bone. Perfect! Happens that its BLUE, too. One of these days, maybe well give the old Rudy Muck Cushion Rim a trial-run more-or-less to see how much ITs weight affects the balance of everything.
In recent daze, the P-Bones slide is callin out for me to DO SOMETHING! beyond water. Im scared-to-death any of the old, familiar goops -- including the slightest dab of historically-relevant Ponds Liquefying, smeared on the brass, inner slide stockings -- might chemically-attack the fiberglass and plastic portions of the slide section(?) Suggestions, anyone?
                      THANK YOU (again!), Musicians Friend.

                      Love My New Pbone

                      By Marschall Van Doren

                      from Palm City, Florida

Comments about Jiggs pBone Plastic Trombone:

I am a "one man band" working 4 -5 nights a week. I bring the Pbone with me and play it to midi files when I need a break from the keyboard. When I bring out my red Pbone the crowds love it, and more importantly, I love it. The slide works better than I ever imagined it would, right out of the box. I don't know how they do it, but I still get that trombone sound from an instument a fraction of my regular trombone's weight and much less bulky. Don't get me wrong. I'm not putting my regular bone on ebay. But if you need an horn for a jam session or just a few songs a night and want to make a spash with very little trade off, Pbone is for you......Marschall
