Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:
Great mouthpiece for half the cost. My son switch to Baritone this year and since it was a school-owned instrument, didn't want to share a mouthpiece. I couldn't believe how much traditional mouthpieces cost, but this Kelly mouth piece was only half. I didn't think a plastic mouthpiece would work, but it does. My son loves it. He says it seems easier to play, especially for long periods of time.
Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:
This is excellent for outdoor playing, and is excellent for someone with braces or a beginning player. Be aware though that it is a small shank mouthpiece and may not fit all trombones. Particularly the King 4B I just got.
Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:
I just received the Kelly trombone mouthpiece, 6.5AL. I took a few minutes of A/B comparison with a Bach mothpiece. The Kelly is more comfortable, and warms up almost instantly. The Bach gives more volume, and a fuller tone. The price can't be beat.
Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:
It depends on you and how you feel about it. I play with salsa bands here in New York City and I don't have a problem using these mouthpieces on my trombone or my trumpet. I also play in various bands beside spanish bands, so if you think that it's ok for spanish bands that shows are smart you are in this business. I play jazz/classic/ and everything else. remember it's up to you I use them together with the metal. feel free to try it. You can't beat the price, anyway.
Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:
While maybe you'll want to get a much more expensive metal mouthpiece for concert band, Kelly mouthpieces are great for marching band or pep band. I'm in a college marching band in Ohio. It gets really cold! The plastic really warms up and makes a huge difference in comfort level. People complain that plastic mouthpieces don't sound as good, but when it's 20 degrees you're not going to sound that good anyway. I even have a mouthpiece that matches my school colors. Another great feature is that if you're one of those people who drop your mouthpiece a lot, you can't dent a plastic one.
Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:
These mouthpiece lack are good for outdoor musicians. The quality of the tone they produce falls short of that of their traditional competators. I urge all who are looking for mouthpieces to reconsider buying from Kelly. These are hardly more than pieces of plastic.
