The Miraphone MI57F Contrabass Trombone is the largest slide trombone commercially available. Its very deep voice blends well with the other instruments in its section and is not prone to distortion. This trombones pitch is essentially the same as a BBb tuba. Its F attachment lowers it a fourth to the low F of a BBb tuba. It features a large bore and a 10 bell for a deep sound and strong projection.

FEATURES
  • .560" bore, 10" bell
  • Single F rotor

I got to try this during the 1978 TUBA conference

By Ross

from Killeen, TX

Comments about Miraphone MI57F Contrabass Trombone:

I got to try this during the 1978 T.U.B.A. conference in LA during the open house at the Roger Bobo's place. The slide was as easy to move as my then new Olds PG-24G bass trombone except heavier. Not awkward at all! I was surprised by the easy centering on all tones throughout its range. I wish I had bought one then when I had the money!
