Comments about Protec Liberty Bass Trombone Compact Aluminum Practice Mute:

I resisted buying one of these stores-in-the-bell practice mutes because when the original one came out they were well over a hundred. Then a generic copy came out, and they are half that. For me, still too much to pay for a stupid practice mute. So finally, I see this Protec brand mute at Musician's Friend for forty with free shipping. A price I can live with. The quality is comparable to the others and it plays fine. It's still a practice mute, and they're all stuffy and everything, but it plays no worse than the others in my experience. I figured I would probably end up leaving it somewhere after a gig anyway, so at least I'll only be out forty instead of a hundred and twenty-six.
