Stomvi 5926 - Raw Finish

By Leicaman57

from Orange County, CA

Comments about Stomvi 5926 Elite Series Bb Flugelhorn:

First, there is some misinformation posted throughout the internet on this horn (here too). It is a small .417 bore, not .459 (or .460) as represented here and elsewhere (this can be verified by contacting Stomvi USA directly) and the finish is unfinished and unpolished with rough splattered solder joints. It's a great playing horn, but the brass and two-piece copper bell are raw metal and will tarnish into a green and brown patina. As long as you go into this horn knowing these facts, you'll be perfectly happy with it. Its playing characteristics are similar to that of Kanstul 1525, which is one of the most popular flugelhorns on the market today.
