Comments about WolfPak WPETPT1 Single Trumpet Case:

Wish I had read the other two reviews. My experience is the same. This case is way too heavy and bulky for one trumpet. The pads on the inside don't fit well. Strange that Wolfpak couldn't design some generic padding on the inside that fits a trumpet as most horns are of similar shape. Even the pouch on the outside doesn't seem to be suited for carrying the one thing you might want to carry other than music to a gig - mutes! To top it off, the case is difficult to zipper shut. All in all, very disappointed.

Comments about WolfPak WPETPT1 Single Trumpet Case:

I got this case as a stop-gap measure for when I sold my flugelhorn, and I sold the trumpet/flugel combo case along with it and had no other horn case. It came up cheap on Stupid Deal of the Day, and I thought, "WolfPak - why not?"

This is probably the oddest "trumpet case" I have ever seen, and I highlight that to point out that I don't believe that this case was specifically designed to be used with a trumpet, even though that's really the only thing that would really work with it.

To explain, it has a compartment that would typically be sized big enough for a compact 2-trumpet case, but comes with some mis-matched, Velcroed foam pads. There are no instructions for how these pads are supposed to be placed - that's up for the user to decide.

All in all it protects the horn, although if I had it to do over again, I'd probably buy a ProTec single case. (My trumpet/flugel combo case was a ProTec that I'd gigged with for years, and was a great case for that task)

Oh - the way it zippers up is annoying too, because you have to make sure that the flap is carefully placed over the inner lip of the case, or else it won't zip up properly.

If you have the choice and you are on the fence, pass. There are better cases that would ultimately be better values than this thing. This is from a guy who has owned all manner of cases from single and double hard cases, to Reunion Blues all-leather gig bags, to very practical heavy nylon, plywood reinforced ProTec cases.

Save your money on this one and get something else. That's just this guy's opinion though. I gave it a two because I couldn't justify the one unless it had broken, which is the only thing that would have made it worse.

      The Wolfpak WPETPT1 trumpet case

      By Ol'Guy

      from colorado springs co

Comments about WolfPak WPETPT1 Single Trumpet Case:

The Wolfpak WPETPT1 trumpet case is very well made of excellent materials BUT the design is flawed, despite excellent inside and outside storage. The space for the horn is very much over sized with only two velcro attached foam blocks to keep the horn in place. There are no instructions on how to position the horn or where to position these blocks. Even with them in place (best guess), the instrument is free to move around in the case should it accidentally be dropped. If the case doesn't reliably protect the instrument, nothing else matters.
