To the person who rated this only 1 out of 5 stars you need to do your research before you slag off a perfectly good product. The D-Tuna only works if you have a top mounted Floyd that lowers pitch only and rests on top of the body when not in use, also known as flush mounted. The D-Tuna will NOT work with a Floyd that is setup to float, that is why it didn't work on your PRS SE Torero. Its not the products fault, its your fault for not finding this out. It even tells you this in the product manual. If your Floyd is setup to float you'll first need to block it, something like a Tremol-No works well.I bought a D-Tuna for my EB/MM Axis and its perfect, easily goes from E to D or Eb to Db and back.

As stated in some of the other reviews, this product ONLY works if you have another device installed to prevent your trem from increasing pitch. My beef is you won't know that (unless you read these reviews) until you get the product and read the manual. It should state that in the product description. I have a full floating trem and that's what I want, not a half floating trem so, this doesn't work for me.

Again, this will work for you if you install a trem-setter first, or some similar device that will prevent the trem from increasing pitch, if not the other 5 strings will not stay in tune when you actuate the device. Mine will be sitting in the box somewhere collecting dust.

Comments about EVH D-Tuna Drop D Tuning System:

Installed on my Musicman EVH in minutes after watching how-to video on YouTube. Works very well, although string usually requires minor re-tuning when swiching from D to E (even after making fine adjustment with set screw). It saves a lot of time. Great invention.

Comments about EVH D-Tuna Drop D Tuning System:

I think that this modification could be amazing if it worked correctly. When i installed the D-Tuna, my low e string would only change half of a step in pitch. I followed all the directions and even had a guitar tech work on it for me. He had mentioned they never work for him when he does put them on for customers. Apparently this piece is ment for tremolo systems that are mounted flat against the body of the guitar. So dive only systems. Thats fine, next time EVH, let your customers know that your product is for a specific type of guitar or trem. Not only was there any type of warning that this could happen, the website actually gives advice for floating trems, but to no resolve. Its also extremely overpriced for something i could make in my machine shop for 5% of the price of yours.

didn't work on my old Floyd

Comments about EVH D-Tuna Drop D Tuning System:

Didn't work well on an old Floyd that has rusty saddles that won't move easily up and down. You pull it out, the saddle piece won't go up because it's old and probably needs oil. So, the thing prob works well enough on a brand new bridge. The one thing I didn't like was having to tune your top E to D using the headstock tuner THEN lock the nut and HOPE it STAYED perfectly tuned to D. Mine never does. There's always some little play that makes it go sharp so that's a real pain.

I have one of these on my EVH Wolfgang Special and installed one on my Charvel So Cal. They work well, but after every string change you can't always get it adjusted just right so you have to use the fine tuner to make up the small difference. Most people don't seem to realize that they're only intended for a single locking (one direction) Floyd Rose. If you look at all of Eddie's guitars, none of them have a two way tremolo. Common sense will prevent unhappy customers.

Comments about EVH D-Tuna Drop D Tuning System:

The EVH d-Tuna is an exemplary little device that does exactly what it's designed to do.

Make sure you use a Floyd Rose bridge that is flush mounted - or "blocked" - before you install the d-Tuna. With the push of your thumb, the d-Tuna will raise your lowest string to E or drop it to D effortlessly. Kudos to Edward for being so ingenious; this device has saved me on more than one occasion!

I bought a d-Tuna the week it was released and I installed it on my Ernie Ball Music Man EVH signature. That's been likely more than a decade ago, and I've never had a problem. Next week, I'm installing one on my project "Frankenstein" guitar. Ingenious design; exceptional quality: but don't buy it if you want to keep your floating trem!

The EVH D-Tuna does what it says it does. It took me 5-10 minutes and everything was great. And yes, YOU MUST STABILIZE (BLOCK) THE TREMELO SYSTEM!! Remember, Eddie has his blocked, he designed it for him and now we have it. It is easy to use and it does WORK!! I am in the process of geeking out a Washburn guitar and this was step 2. Step 1 was....yep...blocking the Floyd Rose. Step 3 will be improving the tone control. But I digress. The D-Tuna works if you follow the directions to a 'T' and you should have no problems!!

Step one of the instructions; Block your trem.

This requires an additional product or modification. I used the Tremol-No to block mine and it works flawless! Drop D to standard - no problem. Takes about 5 or so minutes to install. Works great - just need to remember to block your trem first.

Comments about EVH D-Tuna Drop D Tuning System:

It does exactly what it's designed to do. You may have to tweak it a little as your strings stretch out. It's installed worked perfectly on every standard floyd bridge I've used except the new style EBMM floyd. The D-Tuna seems to sit pretty close to the body of the tribute Axis. However, this is a design issue with the new style EBMM floyd, not the design of the D-Tuna.

*The following applies only to the new style EBMM floyd bridge: With a few adjustments you can get it to work properly. You must use the long screw provided in the kit. You must also back out the fine tuner screw out completely so the locking screw rests against the base plate instead of the fine tuner screw. I used needle nose pliers to back the screw out. Use a cloth to protect the fine tuner so you don't scratch or mar it. Work slow so you don't strip the threads out. Once that is done, install the D-Tuna like normal.
Drop D on a Floyd without unclamping....nothing else to explain.
                            Very solid and well built.
A little expensive in my opinion, but anything with EVH on it will be. It's the right tool for the job.

Just cut and fit a small block of hard wood to block the trem. from raising the pich, And jaming the D-tuna into the guitar body. Atatche to tone block with Double Sided tape. Set up the D-tuna as per instructions. It works great and staies in tune too!
A little expensive for what you get in the box, But it works great.
