Comments about TonePros Locking Tune-o-matic (small posts) Notched Saddles:

Was hoping this could be a drop in replacement for my Gibson Les Paul, but not so much. Post spacing was the tiniest bit off, to the point where it wouldn't work with the new posts that come with the bridge, I had to reuse the old ones, and even then it's a little tight.

But the bigger issue is the saddle notches. I specifically purchased this bridge because the saddles are pre-notched, where as a lot of bridges are not and I didn't want to have to cut my own notches. Problem is, the notches are too small, so the strings pop out, specifically the lower strings like the E and A. If I played anything beyond the lightest picking strength, the string would pop right out of the saddle, sometimes to the point of falling completely off the saddle and resting on the bridge itself. And it's not like I use monster strings, mine are 10-46. Realized this at a show and spent the entire night paranoid and constantly popping my strings back in the saddles. Not fun.

So now I'm going to have to buy files to cut the slots deeper anyway. Other than that, it seems to be decent quality. Just be warned that you will likely have to cut the string slots deeper to make it playable.

Comments about TonePros Locking Tune-o-matic (small posts) Notched Saddles:

I used this to gain some intonation travel on a vintage SG. It does drop in, but the holes are larger than the old style (6/32) threads so it is a little loose. The set screw help tighten it up, but they do chew into the threads. I needed a lot of travel to get the intonation right and this bridge was not quite enough. So I wanted to turn the saddles around, but the nuts are glued on and just would not come off. Also the washers under the bolt head are very delicate and in the process of intonating, they got very ragged. Finally, the phillips head saddle bolts were very touchy and were getting stripped, even though I have first rate tools. Overall,it seems well made, the notches on the saddles were sufficient, and the look was good. But the inability to reverse the saddles, the rather delicate washers and bolts...well it is just not great.

            Works Great

Comments about TonePros Locking Tune-o-matic (small posts) Notched Saddles:

I put this on a 61' sg and a Les Paul standard and it works great. The precut saddles aligned with the pickup pole pieces great and actually brought the high e string in from the edge a bit (which is a good thing for those people that have high e strings rolling off the edge under vibrato). All in all very nice.

good if building a guitar from scratch

I own two T3BP bridges. They are o.k.if you change all the strings at once, but a properly filed nut makes all the difference. Or if you have a vintage instrument. I just believe the metal used for the Schaller bridge sounds better

Not worth replacing your stock bridge

Comments about TonePros Locking Tune-o-matic (small posts) Notched Saddles:

I replaced my stock Gibson SG bridge with this, but it's so low quality, it's already corroded in some places, and the top layer of metal is wearing through, revealing what appears to be copper underneath. Regardless of what people say, locking bridges don't improve your intonation, because regular string pressure is enough to stabalize a non-locking bride.

I would never use a basic Tune-O-Matic ever again after having one of these puppies on my guitar. My Schecter came stock with it and it stays in tune for long periods of time. I only have to tune my guitar about 1-2 times every two weeks. The sustain is amazing it seems to last forever. I would highly suggest buying one for any guitar that has an obsolete Tune-O-Matic.
