Really a waste of money

By Howard-Pzl9J

from Palm Coast, FL

I bought one, mainly so I could practice without disturbing my wife (or neighbors). The first thing I noticed is the battery barely fits inside the enclosure! I had to struggle to get it to close. The sound was ok, and I knew the limitations of the product before buying, so that was fine. What really bothered me was that after using the unit for only a few months, the audio started cutting out. It will play for a few seconds to a minute after turning on, then abruptly stop working. I verified there was nothing wrong with my guitar by testing with my full-sized amp.I had to go purchase another personal practice amp, which means more money spent. I just hope other people read this and the other reviews of this device before investing in the V1.

nice features but poor quality

By RockNBlues

from Detroit

This little amp is a great practice tool. It has two clean channels and two overdrive channels to provide enough basic electric guitar sounds to make silent practice enjoyable anywhere you can carry your guitar. It won't sound like your real amp but what do you expect for the money. However, the quality is not too good. The battery compartment is so small that you can barely install the cover with a battery inside. If you don't install the cover, the battery falls out. I had to return the first one I bought because the battery jammed down onto the circuit board below it and caused the power to cut out. The replacement I received isn't much better - a Duracell does not fit and an Energizer is so tight that the cover flexes. On top of that the sound gets louder or quieter if the headphone jack gets bumped.Overall it is OK. It would be a great product if only the quality was better.

Sounds awesome

By Spooke-UI769

C Tech Pocket Rock-It V1. Yes, there is a design problem with the battery door, and generally the V1 is not something you can bang around. But for practicing without disturbing your family it's great. The sound is big and awesome, mainly due to the stereo amplification. The distortion and chorus settings don't totally replace pedals because the options are limited, but all of the choices sound good, and I am happy that I don't have to fiddle with a bunch of knobs to find the "right" setting. It's done for you. And the headphones...what a pleasant surprise. Not cheapy at all.
