I don't play professionally anymore, but enjoy recording on the GarageBand program on my iMac just for me. And, I don't always use a capo. However, when I do I don't like the hassel of getting the thing set just right and having to tune up again. The short time I've used the NS it has worked like a dream. Glad I bought it.
Simple one hand operation. It easily went from my acoustic to my strat to the jazz box. Didn't have to do a bit of tuning correction. I've tried several capos over the years (still have one that I bought back in 1963) and this one is by far the best.
Light weight. Well consturcted. Easy to attach with one hand. Leaving your other hand free for a sip of beer between songs.
I've paid more for capos that are collecting dust or have been given away.

I am highly satisfied with this purchase, and have already recommended it to friends. I recommend it to anyone looking for a quality capo that won't get in the way.

The only other thing I need to state is that when you are not using this capo, you have to take it off and put it somewhere. With a spring loaded capo, I would clip it on the head of the guitar, in case I needed to used it again. I suppose you could find a way to make this one work in a similar fashion, but it would take longer to put it on and take it off, then adjust more to get it to fit over the neck again.
The thumb screw used to tighten this capo, combined with the very fine threads, make for a pleasant experience when screwing it into place, and allow for very precise control of the tension on the strings. The bar covering the strings is just a bit longer than the fret board on my guitar, which means that it doesn't get in the way as much as all of the spring-loaded capos I have used in the past, especially when playing a B7, or any other chord which requires all fingers. The padding on the inside of the capo is soft enough not to damage the finish on any part of the guitar's neck, yet firm enough not to allow fret buzz.

I gave it a 9 only because I couldn't choose a different size that was just a cm or so shorter, to avoid getting in the way completely. Otherwise, this is the best capo I have ever owned.
I haven't owned this capo for very long, so I don't know what the durability or life expectency is, but the construction and selection of materials is high quality. I don't expect to have any problems with it any time in the near future.
A really great product for the low price.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Aluminum Screw Type Capo:

In June, I wrote a review on this capo and I really liked it. The design is good and while it worked it did a nice job. However, both of the screw caps came off of both of my capos a day apart and I had to use pliers to remove the screws to get the capos off of my guitar. I emailed D'Addario to let them know about the problem and received a return email from someone name George saying he would send out a couple of caps with screws. They must have gotten lost in the mail. Bottom line is a good idea with a small but fatal manufacturing flaw. Maybe I just got a couple of bad ones but I cannot afford to be live and have to use pliers on my capo. Until I know they have fixed the problem, I'll just have to use the clip on or the Page bar and screw.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Aluminum Screw Type Capo:

Got my first one included with a used guitar purchase. I no longer use anything else. These are small and accurate. Easily and quickly adjusted. Other capos always seem to get in my way. These are as close to "not being there" as I have been able to find. I watch others using capos that have spring loaded handles and they always seem to be fidgeting around with them trying to find just the right spot so they fret all the strings yet not put them out of tune. With this capo, simply place it right behind the desire fret and turn the micro adjustment knob until the strings are touching the fret. if any strings don't ring true, turn the knob another 1/8 to 1/4 turn.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Aluminum Screw Type Capo:

In August 2014, I wrote a review and pretty much agree with it still. However, yesterday and today the screw cap came off of two separate capos and I was forced to use pliers to remove the capos making them useless. I am glad they did not do this on stage. Until this problem is resolved in the design and manufacturing of this capo, I will not buy another like it.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Aluminum Screw Type Capo:

This is an excellent capo - works very well and the price is right. The micrometer adjustment makes it very easy to precisely position and tension the capo. If you have large hands, this capo doesn't get in your way like some of the lever-type capos. Even with my large hands, I can access the fret adjacent to this capo with no problem. Very small, so it stows easily or I can stick it in my pocket, unlike many of the bulkier capos.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Aluminum Screw Type Capo:

I've used several different styles of Capos over the years, most recently the G7 which I've liked because of it's relatively compact design, that for me, gets in the way of making C and E chords much less than other styles. But, this D'Addario capo is even more compact and does not slide between the frets. Once screwed down it stays putting even pressure on the strings creating crystal clear tones. It is my new capo of choice.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Aluminum Screw Type Capo:

I've always used the spring tension capo and bought this screw type to help my weak fingers not have to squeeze spring. When I looked at capo in package it looked so small that I thought this will never fit on my fret board but surprised to learn how it fits very well all way up board. And very easy to turn screw to move with one hand. Clamps strings very well and does not get in way as do many larger capos.

This capo is the best I've used on my acoustic. It was recommended by another musician in our praise band. When I use this capo, I have the ability to fine tune the sound, as the adjustment knob is applied. Great item. The best accessory around!
