One of the most widely used series of methods for individual or like-instrument class instruction. Using a very well-rounded approach including scales, arpeggios, technical studies, studies for musicianship, articulation studies, solos, duets, and studies devoted to the special needs of each instrument, this series provides a fantastic wealth of material for all student musicians.

Comments about Hal Leonard Rubank Elementary Methods - Cello:
The Rubank Elementary Method Cello book is intended for beginners who are learning with music score. It can be used without a teacher, but it doesn't have a lot of diagrams that do-it-yourselfers might benefit from. At least they tell you what to do above each section of score, so that is a bit of a help. Perhaps I will use it some, but find that YouTube is a good source for folks not taking formal lessons.
