Bad Pedal

By Doctalivingston

from Richmond Va

Comments about Ibanez Tone-Lok PH7 Phaser Pedal:

While this pedal has a nice layout to it, it produce only a slight effect even if i turned up everything to the highest level... And while I would give it another chance I feel this is the cheapest pedal I own its going back to the store asap, and I'm getting something better.

Perfect for acoustic

By GTSeat

from Central Oregon

Comments about Ibanez Tone-Lok PH7 Phaser Pedal:

I've had this pedal for about six months now and I'm very happy with my purchase. I've owned an Ibanez Phase Modulator since 2002 and the biggest difference between the two is that all of the PH7 settings are practical, whereas the PM7 has a bunch of goofy sounds inside. The reason I like this pedal so much is that it's subtle. Most phasers are too wavey for my taste. This is the fourth Tonelok pedal I've owned and I plan to get at least one more.

My personal fav

By RickPlayerSC

from Chux, SC

Comments about Ibanez Tone-Lok PH7 Phaser Pedal:

I have had a couple of phasers, and this is still a personal favorite. I like it because it can be a subtle effect and not take over your whole sound. I've used just about everything, currently a ph-3 and this. I love the sound of the ph-3, but I wish it had a level pot... This one has the level pot, and Sounds really good for a low level phaser. I'd like to try the analog one, never used it.

Great Phaser

By B. Sanor

from Ohio

Comments about Ibanez Tone-Lok PH7 Phaser Pedal:

OK so it's not a tank in the construction dept. but it is well built. It's affordable and for my tastes, sounds perfect for what I do. The ad is misleading in that it is not 8 stages of phasing. It has 4 and 6 but not 8. I like being able to recess the knobs to make it harder for my settings to be moved during play and transportation. I know it's a pedal with just 4 knobs but read the manual on how they work it will help and save time in finding the right sound. I prefer to have the switch on 6 stage as it is a bit more present and aggressive. It's a nice blend of vintage and modern phase tones without getting digital or fake sounding. On stage 4 it's too subtle for my tastes and is barely audible even with the level all the way up. Sort of like a phase 90. Sounds great just too subtle for me so I keep in on 6 stage. Overall this is the best phase I've ever played and gives me the virtually perfect phase tone I was looking for. I run it in the front of my mesa triple rec. with no loss of tone or signal. I love it and would buy it again if anything ever happened to it or it was stolen.

decent pedal

By Yoder15

from mississippi

Comments about Ibanez Tone-Lok PH7 Phaser Pedal:

I was disapointed with how tame its sounds are. it's effects are very mild but noticable. I would not buy it again if it broke but I'll hang on to it as long as it lasts.

All about texture.

By superfunk47

from Washington State

Comments about Ibanez Tone-Lok PH7 Phaser Pedal:

This really is a good pedal if you want to add texture and color to your playing. I play both guitar and bass through this, and it adds a special little bit of atmosphere to a relaxed or smooth song.If you want vibe, atmosphere, color, or anything of the sort...get this pedal. If you use it right, it'll work wonders.

...average

By bks_luc

from Albion, IL

Comments about Ibanez Tone-Lok PH7 Phaser Pedal:

I have given this a lower rating based on the fact that it really isn't that impressive. They used to promote this thing like mad, but now you hardly hear a single word spoken of it. I bought this to add atmosphere to my sound. But you're only getting a phaser, nothing more. The pedal tends to not want to turn on/off with the first couple of attempts at switching it. So the thing hardly works when you need it to.For the money... i doubt i'd buy it again. I dont use the effect that much, mainly because of its switching problem. But i think i would invest in a Boss version instead of this. You wont get any unique sounds, ...well the ray guy, but again that isn't that impressive either.

Not your daddy's phaser.

By Shaggy-igh8O

from Chicago(ish)

Comments about Ibanez Tone-Lok PH7 Phaser Pedal:

This pedal has some great tones locked inside her. When switching into mode 2 it gives you 8 stages of phase shifting which gives you VERY rich and VERY deep phases. It can give you wild tripped out phaser sounds almost replicating a Leslie effect and give you very subtle Chorusing effects along with everything in between. If you are looking for the vintage MXR Script style sounds (think Eddie Van Halen) this pedal is NOT for you. While it basically does the same thing, it will not get you the same sounds. If you just want a very dependable and very diverse pedal then this pedal may just be for you.
