OVERVIEW

The MXR Black Label Chorus is Zakk's secret weapon to thicken up his wall of distortion and add liquid dimension and texture to clean passages. At the heart of the MXR Black Label Chorus is its bucket brigade circuitry-the only way to get truly rich and warm analog chorusing. The MXR Zakk Wylde Chorus pedal's vintage style tones are dialed in by High and Low cut filters and Level, Rate, and Depth controls. For the ultimate in spatial chorusing, hook up 2 amps via the 2 outputs for a wide and sweeping stereo spread. Like all MXR pedals, the Black Label Chorus comes in a heavy-duty housing with durable jacks and switches for a lifetime on the road.

The MXR Zakk Wylde Chorus guitar pedal can be powered by one 9V battery (accessed by removing the effect pedal's bottom plate), a Dunlop DC810DC brick, or MC403 Power system (sold separately).

Get the chorus pedal that fuels the deep, dark guitar sounds of Black Label Society frontman Zakk Wylde.

Comments about MXR ZW38 Zakk Wylde Black Label Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is my first stomp box purchase. My previous amps had the chorus and other effect built into it and i thought they sounded OK until i heard this black label chorus. Let me just say the difference is night and day! Playing around with the settings on here is so much better dialing in a sound you want than just the single effects knob on my old amp. Then i tried plugging the stereo output to my old amp along with my new tube amp and WOW! Definitely blew me away. Haven't tried that live and not sure if i want to be lugging two amps around but it's a very cool feature when you're playing in your house. I'm very happy with this purchase and is a great start to working my way to my own pedalboard.

Comments about MXR ZW38 Zakk Wylde Black Label Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is the first chorus pedal I have owned. I think the tones I get are slightly more varied than other chorus pedals I have tried. I would say it is much more effective when used in conjunction with other pedals I have, rather than used on its own. Seems to be built well, just like all of the other MXR pedals I have. My favorite thing about this pedal is the stereo output so I can run both of my 212 cabinets together and all used effects come through both cabs.

Comments about MXR ZW38 Zakk Wylde Black Label Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

Had this pedal before and sold it to find something better, big mistake! Purchased this a 2nd time. Realized that you don't have to be a Zakk fanboy to enjoy this pedal. Back off the gain on your amp a little and you have a Alex Lifeson tone, add delay with this on the clean channel and you got Andy Summers/ The Police. That bright glowing blue light will always be on when my rig is.

This little thing has so many sounds, how did they get them all in there?? Whatever your chorus needs are, this does it without the noise. Being able to fit in your pocket is a plus too.

Nice chorus. As others have said, it is good for clean or saturated signals. Does not significantly color, boost, or lower your bypassed signal, so far as I can tell.

This pedal is versitile. It sounds awesome on a clean or a distorted channel. I'm a primary metal player and I use this to add some demention instead of having a muddy wall of distortion. I love it. It also is good for clean playing. This is the only chorus pedal i will ever use, kudos to MXR for build yet another great pedal.

This pedal paired with good amp and a decent guitar has a great sound. Black label chorus is definitely the secret to the Zakk's signature sound.

Comments about MXR ZW38 Zakk Wylde Black Label Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

I like zakk Wylde but I bought this pedal to try and expand my tone. I currently play through a Line 6 spider 3. My amp has built in chorus but it does not sound good at all. When I recieved the Wylde Chorus I played with it for a few days on just one amo and it sounded pretty good. I believe it "widens" my sound, as well as shapes the tone nicely. HOWEVER, I decided to borrow my friends line 6 amp to hook up the stereo output feature and WOW. Its amazing. I am really happy i picked this thing up. I know i will have it for a long time, if not forever. now I have my own "wall of bedroom doom". Its bad to the bone, BUY IT!

works great. does exactly what it's supposed to. the only problem i had was the first one that got delivered did not work when plugged in. it worked with the battery but not the 9 volt adapter. i have never seen that happen before? what was really odd was that in the same order i had purchased a kirk hammet signature cry baby wah pedal and it had the exact same issue??? very weird. all my other pedals work fine and i use the dc brick to power everything so it was just a strange coincidence. maybe just a batch of bad plugs or something simple like that? either way the the customer service rep at musicians friend was awesome,he arranged for me to send the items back via ups and as soon as they had tracking info he shipped out replacements on 2nd day air i had both in my hand in by the end of the second day. they were christmas gifts and anything other than that level of service would have made those gifts obsolete. so thanks unfortunately i did not get his name but hopefully this is the standard.. as i have had some pretty bad luck with other companies. and as far as the pedals go they are great! the issue with plug is just one of those things that happens once on a while even with quality products what matters is how the manufacture and the dealer responds to the customer when there is a problem and in this case they both did exactly what they were supposed to do. mxr and musicians friend have my buisiness and my sons business for years to come!
