Wireless microphone system with two lavaliers and two headsets.

The Gem Sound GMW62 is a low cost wireless microphone system that includes two headset microphones and two lavalier microphones. It comes with a rugged VHF receiver with individual volume controls, and 3’ ¼” connection cable. Microphones include an on/off switch, and operate on one 9V battery (included). Comes with two transmitters that accommodate either a lapel or a headset.

This set comes with four mics, but you can only run two at a time. They receive on different frequencies, two at a time, so you can have one headset and one lavalier, two lavaliers, or two headsets. Two performers can switch between lavalier and headset on the fly. Amazing price for a rugged wireless microphone system.

Each transmitter operates on a single frequency. This item is the EF frequency. If you want to run multiple systems, there are four sets of differing dual frequencies.

Comments about Gem Sound 2 Channel VHF Wireless System w/2 Headset/ 2 Lapel Mics:

ALL FOUR OF THE GEM SYSTEMS LISTED HERE ON MusiciansFriend are the SAME -- with different signal channels
    • As a professional broadcaster involved in television and radio, and as a public address announcer, DJ and MC, I highly recommend the GEM Two Channel VHF Wireless System w/2 Headset/ 2 Lapel Microphones system

    • Using engineering, design, and manufacturing advances pioneered by GEM, the integrity built into the GEM Two Channel VHF Wireless System w/2 Headset/ 2 Lapel Mics system truly defines the quality and price value point for this type of equipment.
    • It's amazing how much microphone power, presence, and performance GEM provides for the money.
The system worked great right out of the box. At a wedding rehearsal on a Friday night, I tested it using DURACELL PROCELL 9V BATTERIES -- the new ones that are orange with a black stripe.
    • The pastor wanted to be wired up with the lapel-clip lavalier mic (not much different from the headset mics in the box) but the same concepts apply) it worked perfectly, flawlessly, delivering crystal clear audio and impressive ambiance.
    • WHEREAS; there was some signal cut out due to having the bride and five bridesmaids along with the ring bearer and flower girl standing directly in line between the receiver and the pastor.
    • THEREFORE; be it resolved that I made some adjustments by raising the receiver to about eight feet (secured with double-sticky-sided Velcro tape to the top of one of my jumbo 15" DJ speakers).
    • All went well after that -- this is why a rehearsal or a dry-run is a good idea; it helps to work out the bugs and glitches.
    • The next day for the wedding, again I mounted the GEM two-channel receiver on top of one of the 15" speakers and ran a 30' cable with 1/4" terminals from there to the amplifier. It worked great again for the entire wedding service with the pastor hooked up with one of the two included lavalier microphones.
    • The GEM System amazed those in attendance -- all of the families, guests, catering staff and others at the event were impressed with the wireless microphones, which worked flawlessly all day and into the night.
    • Take heed to what I mean in the title, you have to know what you're doing. That means devise, test, and use a few main Best Practices; implement these as a minimum standard into your methodologies:
    1) Use the DuraCell Pro Cell 9 volt batteries, the orange ones with the black stripe, mentioned above.
    2) Securely mount the GEM two-channel receiver about eight-feet high in order to help eliminate signal interference and to keep a clear line-of-sight between the mic(s) and the receiver.
    3) To aide in the elimination of squealing, irritating feedback, place the speakers in front of the microphones. CAUTION those using the microphones that loud feedback will occur if they dare to step in line with or in front of the speakers.
    4) TEST the equipment and the system by conducting a rehearsal or a dry-run; work out the bugs and glitches ahead of the event, with enough time to try it and to get everything working right so that YOU are the HERO once again.

    • Again; as a professional broadcaster involved in television and radio, and as a public address announcer, DJ and MC, I highly recommend the GEM Two Channel VHF Wireless System w/2 Headset/ 2 Lapel Microphones system -- click through and order it right now here on MusiciansFriend.com -- and you'll be amazed.

Jack input is very sloppy, and was going to get in there to make an adjustment when I realized it was enclosed and I was unable to adjust it. :(
