OVERVIEW

A top seller.

The Soloist series of marimbas are effective solutions for budget conscience musicians and schools who are looking for high quality sound but desire a low cost. Made with Padouk wood bars that are graduated and slightly narrower, this marimba offers the same precise tuning and voicing as the Artist marimba. This quality provides for balanced sound throughout the entire range of the instrument. Being tuned to the sixth overtone allows complete control over all aspects of the marimba's sound. As far as construction goes, the frame is the patented voyager system which permits effortless adjustment to a wide range of playing heights, and the resonators are welded, not riveted, to offer the utmost strength and safety from mechanical noise. Mallets and a cover are included.

Comments about Adams MSPV43 Soloist Series 4.3 Octave Padouk Marimba:

I bought this 4.3 octave marimba to practice at home. I have been playing for about two years. It is great to be able to practice at home on a professional instrument. The tone is great except for one or two keys, nevertheless after playing with it I have easily adjusted and can play it with perfect tone. When constructing the instrument make sure to have two or more volunteers to help lift the resonators in to their locations. Greatly pleased!

Comments about Adams MSPV43 Soloist Series 4.3 Octave Padouk Marimba:

My son is in high school concert band, marching band and percussion ensemble. He has played since 5th grade and now my youngest daughter has started playing percussion in school band so it made sense to purchase this instrument since they are so expensive to rent here and you can't get the 4.3 octave for rental only a 3.5. The marimba sounds fantastic, did have to adjust a few resonators but also found it sounds better in a two story foyer area as opposed to a room which would be the case with any marimba. The marimba came on the day promised and shipped very quickly. This was the best price (I bought during the sale) and could get no one to match the price. Musician's friend was great to deal with. The instrument was brand new, in perfect condition and included everything even a set of mallots and a cover! It will definitely take 2 people to put together and it takes at least an hour. The wheels were hardest to figure out how to put on the stand as the instructions are not very helpful. You will need some experience laying the keys and will need to pull the strings loose in order to stretch the keys over the stand. My son and I were able to do it together, he is almost 15 and I am the mom, but we are really good at putting things together. It was a good "bonding" experience with lots of laughs. My kids have enjoyed playing it ever since. so far it has been well worth the investment.
