Comments about Ludwig M-5 Musser Mallets:
Amongst the 'Hype " of custom mallets these days and the cost of purchasing them, Ludwig/Musser has kept their line of two stage handled products pretty consistent! These new M-5s are very good quality and very similar to my old pair form the '70s. Only difference is in the color of the phenolic ball. The handles still have good balance and have just a slight amount of "spring" to them that my old ones do not have. I bought these for another mallet player who does not like Birch or bamboo handled mallets even though those seem to be the "In" thing. He loved them as soon as he started using them. The sound they produce is bright and articulate on Xylophone and very good also for Bells. Definitely a winner!
Comments about Ludwig M-5 Musser Mallets:
They were okay but too hard to enjoy playing with. Unless you have a solo don't but these. I reccomend M-3 or M-4 mallets.
