      These were purchased for my daughter, an incoming freshman mallet percussion college student. She didn't give much direction for the purchase, and the folks here helped me choose which hardness to purchase. I chose the black sticks because they were going to be used in concert rather than marching band performances. Haven't heard any complaints thus far, and am hoping she'll tell me in more detail for future purchases.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
